Hey Kathy,
Glad to see you back.
Worst teacher?? Broke my heart when I was in grade 2, which would have made me about 6 years old. (I was her little darling).
We had to use a sharpened pencil when doing our spelling and make sure we missed a line between writing each word.
I recall that i was feeling unwell, my pencil was blunt, and I didn't miss a line. In short, my page was a bit of a mess. She took me up to the front of the class, hit me across the back of the legs with a ruler, and told me she never wanted to 'see my face' again. I ran all the way home, so devastated, and then when confronted by my parents, she lied and said it never happened.
I'm 45 now and this is my only clear memory of my early school years. Adults who abuse the position of power they hold over young children have a lot to answer for.
Not fun at the time, or even funny now. But thought i'd share it anyway.
Cheers
Lori
