Dream Planning Step 4: OUCH! Did that hit a nerve?

If you're just joining us now and want to start from the beginning; i) The Barrier to Success ii) What is your dream? 1) Planning Your Dream; Step 1 2) Dollars & Sense; Step 2 3) The Magic Formula; Step 3
Dream Planning Step 4: OUCH! Did that hit a nerve? In the last step, I talked about the magic formula for achieving your goals. Whenever I share that formula, it hits a nerve. Do you know why? Because most people that aren't achieving their goals YET have very low conversion. Step 4 in planning your dream is figuring out things you can do to increase your conversion. In simpler words - things you can do that will entice more people to buy what you sell. Here's some ideas to get you started; a) Do you have your own domain name?) It's a lot easier to remember Bobs-Crazy-Tshirts.com than thegiftemporium.com?id78937566340597 Why make it hard for people to remember? b)Do you have a web presence of your own? Maybe it's a website. Maybe it's a blog. Maybe it's an ebay auction. But it's awfully hard to invite people to come visit when you don't even have your own home sweet home on the web. c) Does it look trustworthy? If you have a web presence, does it look professional or does it look like a 10 year old made it? When sites look "home made" or amateur, people are often afraid to buy because they're not sure if you're "for real" or whether you'll just take their money and credit card number and disappear. They often won't even click through far enough to find out that you resell something for a bigger company. They'll leave long before that. If you think your site might need help, ask Peter for a review here. You don't have to start with an expensive website. You can get a free blog and professional tempate along with it at blogger.com and many other places like that. When you're making some sales, then upgrade to a paid website. d) Do you have an interesting sig file? Most people have boring sig files filled with affiliate links. They keep using them even though no one is clicking on them. Have you ever seen Bogdan's? It looks like this: I guarantee you will get inspired by reading this. Good old curiosity, hmm? A good sig file can send people to your website or blog or auction to see what you're about. A boring sig file will make people ignore it. YOUR TURN: Step 4 is Interactive. Toss in your ideas. The more the merrier. Invite your friends to make suggestions, too. The more replies and ideas, the more you benefit Why? Because I'll reply to each suggestion and idea to "fill in" more tips - and then we'll compile a checklist of ways you can get better results. So... the question; What would help an online entrepreneur make more sales? : ) Linda P.S. For the early birds, you can find some ideas in the Riddle Thread and the Affiliate Checklist article

Continuing the thread: The quote, "There are countless ways of achieving greatness, but any road to achieving one's maximum potential must be built on a bedrock of respect for the individual, a commitment to excellence, and a rejection of mediocrity." -Buck Rodgers. Jerry Osteryoung states in his article at http://www.cob.fsu.edu/jmi/articles/commitment.asp "....I now know the answer is commitment to success! Survival cannot be your primary or only goal. Most people who are committed to a goal focus all of their attention on that goal. I know that what you focus on manifests itself in your life. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, then you must be committed to being successful." I generally agree that there is no single magic formula but definitely components that when applied will do the job. On the topic of the four ideas in your post, Linda, just previous, my venture is guided by the corporate initiated Internet Policy that governs how and what I do. I concede that if more web sites showing products & opportunities complied to such policies, we would have less trouble achieving our goals. You know as well as I do that the lowlifes in this world are also committed to achieve their goals, but these types have goals that are designed to destroy anything and everything that is "true, honest, just, pure,lovely, of good report, has any virtue ....." Sadly they achieve their goals and openly attempt to convince a judge that they are innocent. (Now I'm rambling)

Hi Heather... Look at your post - just above this. You'll see a little line, followed by this;
Heather http://www.HMaggio-pure-skin-care.com lil10624@yahoo.com http://groups.yahoo.com/group/skin-care.com http://lilone624.blogspot.com http://www.bizzyblogz.com/HMaggio/ That's your sig file. "Sig" stands for "signature" and it appears under your name when ever you post. Most forums have them... and most email programs allow you to create one, too. : ) Linda
