Remember ole Dicky boy there is a Clinton operative. Don't believe everything you hear from this guy.

Hello Jim & Friends,

I read your above comment and decided to add my two cents on it. Your implication that cos Dick Morris was a past Clinton adviser impugns his commentary is a bit questionable for a variety of reasons.

People do change their political views and sometimes the changes are radical to say the least. Below are 2 examples of people who were much worse then Clinton advisers and progressive liberal Democrats.

1. David Horowitz of the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC), Front Page Magazine, Discover The Networks and so much more was one of the founders of the New Left in the 60s and the editor of Ramparts magazine (the largest NL publication). He got a wake up call and became one of the best known and respected conservatives in the United States. He's written numerous best selling books, articles and speaks at Universities nation wide fighting the left's influence over these establishments and the students studying there. In many cases he's been in danger cos one of his additional causes is his fight against radical Islam, Jihad and their association with the progressive liberal left. Read more below.

2. Andrew Breitbart was an extreme left wing individual and changed his views after the Clarence Thomas hearings. He is publisher and owner of Breitbart.Com and it's various other websites. His reporting is often questioned by the progressive left but till now they've been unable to fault his facts and he stands behind his different reports. You might remember that it was Breitbart that broke the Weinergate scandal that eventually brought about his forced resignation as a Congressman (his NY 9th district was recently won by a Republican). Prior to that was the ACORN take down that he was involved in. In the conservative community he is respected and considered to be a valued speaker at Tea Party rallies, CPAC and much more. You can read more about him below.

So being a past Clinton adviser doesn't disqualify Dick Morris from being a conservative commentator. He might still have connections to the Clinton's but that too doesn't make his views unorthodox as far as the conservative viewpoint is concerned. If you have issues with his comments write about it and discredit his sources if you can.

I seem to remember that in 2008 you were an avid Hillary supporter and when she lost the primaries to the fraud and great pretender B Hussein you came out in support of McCain. Knowing your views today I'm sure you wouldn't want them impugned cos in the past you supported Hillary Clinton. I sure wouldn't consider that option since I know you so well and your conservative convictions today are part and parcel of who you are. So there is no need to imply that Morris' commentary that is based on factual information is suspect cos of past associations.

In conclusion being a past leftist doesn't make the person's opinions and commentaries suspect simply cos of past associations. What makes their opinions and thoughts relevant or not are their present histories, actions and beliefs. True there are some fraudulent "converts" to conservatism but we know who they are and as I said their actions are the proof of the pudding.

Biography of David Horowitz

David Horowitz was one of the founders of the New Left in the 1960s and an editor of its largest magazine, Ramparts. He is the author, with Peter Collier, of three best selling dynastic biographies: The Rockefellers: An American Dynasty (1976); The Kennedys: An American Dream (1984); and The Fords: An American Epic (1987). Looking back in anger at their days in the New Left, he and Collier wrote Destructive Generation (1989), a chronicle of their second thoughts about the 60s that has been compared to Whittaker Chambers’ Witness and other classic works documenting a break from totalitarianism. Horowitz examined this subject more closely in Radical Son (1996), a memoir tracing his odyssey from “red-diaper baby” to conservative activist that George Gilder described as “the first great autobiography of his generation.”

Horowitz continued his chronicle of the consequences of radical politics in The Politics of Bad Faith (2000), Hating Whitey (2000), Left Illusions (2003), and The Party of Defeat (2008). His Art of Political War (2000) was described by White House political strategist Karl Rove as “the perfect guide to winning on the political battlefield.” Unholy Alliance (2004) was a prophetic work pioneering the view that the Islamo Fascists are working hand in glove with the secular left.

In 1988, Horowitz created the Center for the Study of Popular Culture (CSPC) — renamed by its board of directors the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC) in July 2006 — to institutionalize his campaigns against the Left and its anti-Americanism. The DHFC’s mission is to defend the principles of individual freedom, the rule of law, private property, and limited government. It further seeks to defend free societies in the war against their enemies, and to reestablish academic freedom in American schools. The DHFC is supported by 100,000 contributors and publishes FrontpageMagazine.com, an online magazine featuring articles on “the war at home and abroad,” which receives approximately a million visitors per month. Another DHFC website, DiscoverTheNetworks.org, is an encyclopedia of the political Left and its networks.

Horowitz has devoted much of his attention over the past several years to the radicalization of the American university In 2003, he launched an academic freedom campaign to return the American university to traditional principles of open inquiry and to halt indoctrination in the classroom. To further these goals he devised an Academic Bill of Rights to protect students from abusive professors. In the same year Horowitz founded Students for Academic Freedom (SAF), which now has chapters on 200 college campuses. Asserting that, “You can’t get a good education if they’re only telling you half the story,” Horowitz called for inquiries into political bias in the hiring of faculty and the appointment of commencement speakers.

In three years Horowitz’s campaign for academic freedom was able to make intellectual diversity and academic freedom front-burner issues on college campuses across the country. In June 2005, in direct response to his campaign, the American Council on Education, which represents 2000 colleges and universities, called on its members to create grievance procedures for students who were politically harassed by their professors. In July 2005 the Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted 111-87 to create a Select Committee on Academic Freedom, which then held hearings throughout the state, which lasted until June 2006. On July 19, 2006, the Temple University board of trustees adopted a new policy, which gave students academic freedom rights – the first university to do so.

Horowitz has chronicled the radicalization of the American university and the way indoctrination has replaced education in four books: Uncivil Wars (2003); The Professors: the 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America (2006) ; Indoctrination U. (2008); One Party Classroom (2009) and most recently Reforming Our Universities (2010).

Cultural critic Camille Paglia has said of David Horowitz: “I respect the astute and rigorously unsentimental David Horowitz as one of America’s most original and courageous political analysts. . . . As a scholar who regularly surveys archival material, I think that, a century from now, cultural historians will find David Horowitz’s spiritual and political odyssey paradigmatic for our time.”

Norman Podhoretz, former editor of Commentary magazine, says of Horowitz: “He differs from some of the other ‘second-thoughts’ generation in having pulled no punches and in having broken more decisively than some of them with left-wing pieties — whether liberal or socialist. . . . David Horowitz is hated by the Left because he is not only an apostate but has been even more relentless and aggressive in attacking his former political allies than some of us who preceded him in what I once called ‘breaking ranks’ with that world. He has also taken the polemical and organizational techniques he learned in his days on the left, and figured out how to use them against the Left, whose vulnerabilities he knows in his bones. (That he is such a good writer and speaker doesn’t hurt, either.) In fact, he has done so much, and in so many different ways, that one might be justified in suspecting that ‘David Horowitz’ is actually more than one person.”

Henry Mark Holzer, a libertarian lawyer who has represented Soviet dissidents fleeing Communism for freedom in the West, has given expression to sentiments shared by many of Horowitz’s supporters among conservatives: “I don’t say loosely that someone is a hero. But in my view, David Horowitz fits the definition of that term. He is a man who has stood up, and for a long time stood up alone, for his values.”

David Horowitz has spoken at over 300 colleges and universities and continues to visit more than 30 campuses a year. He has appeared on Nightline, Crossfire, Today, Hannity and Colmes, the O’Reilly Factor, Good Morning America, C-SPAN, CNBC, Fox News Channel and MSNBC. He gives hundreds of interviews yearly on radio and television.

Andrew Breitbart (pronounced /ˈbraɪtbɑrt/; born February 1, 1969) is an American publisher,[2] commentator for the Washington Times, author,[3] an occasional guest commentator on various news programs who has served as an editor for the Drudge Report website. He was a researcher for Arianna Huffington, and helped launch her website, The Huffington Post.[4]

He currently runs his own news aggregation site, Breitbart.com, and five other websites: Breitbart.tv, Big Hollywood, Big Government, Big Journalism, and Big Peace.

Breitbart is the adopted son of Gerald and Arlene Breitbart, a restaurant owner and banker respectively, and grew up in a family with secular liberal views, in upscale Brentwood, Los Angeles. He was raised Jewish (his adoptive mother had converted to Judaism when marrying his adoptive father).[5][6] He explains that his birth certificate indicates his biological father was a folk singer, and that he is ethnically Irish by birth. His adopted sister is Hispanic.[5] He changed his political views after experiencing an "epiphany" during the Clarence Thomas hearings, and now describes himself as "a Reagan conservative" with libertarian sympathies.[2]

Breitbart earned a B.A. in American studies from Tulane University in 1991, graduating with "no sense of [his] future whatsoever".[7] His early jobs included a stint at cable channel E! Entertainment Television, working for the company's online magazine, and some time in film production.[6]

[edit] Public life

[edit] Authorship, research and reporting

In 1995 Breitbart saw the Drudge Report and was so impressed that he emailed Matt Drudge. Breitbart said, "I thought what he was doing was by far the coolest thing on the Internet. And I still do."[4] Breitbart described himself as "Matt Drudge’s *****"[8] and selected and posted links to other news wire sources. Later Matt Drudge introduced him to Arianna Huffington (when she was still a Republican)[6] and Breitbart subsequently assisted her (after she became a progressive) in creating her website.

Breitbart's work has been published in the Wall Street Journal, National Review Online and the Weekly Standard Online, among others. He writes a weekly column for The Washington Times, which also appears at Real Clear Politics. Breitbart also co-wrote the book Hollywood, Interrupted: Insanity Chic in Babylon with Mark Ebner, a book that is highly critical of U.S. celebrity culture.[9] On January 19, 2011, the conservative gay rights group GOProud announced Breitbart had joined its Advisory Council.[10]

In April 2011 Grand Central Publishing released Breitbart's book, Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World, in which he discusses his own political evolution and the part he took in the rise of new media, most notably at the Drudge Report and The Huffington Post.

In June 2011 Breitbart was involved in the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal, posting photographs of Weiner on his websites.[11]

[edit] Commentaries

Breitbart has appeared as a commentator on Real Time with Bill Maher and Dennis Miller. In 2004 he was a guest commentator on Fox News Channel's morning show and frequently appears as a guest panelist on Fox News's late night program, Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld. Breitbart also appeared as a commentator in the 2004 documentary Michael Moore Hates America.[12]

On October 22, 2009, Breitbart appeared on the C-SPAN program Washington Journal. He gave his opinions on the mainstream media, Hollywood, the Obama Administration and his personal political views, having heated debates with several callers.[2]

In the hours immediately following Senator Ted Kennedy's death, Breitbart called Kennedy a "villain", a "duplicitous bastard", a "prick"[13] and "a special pile of human excrement."[14][15]

In February 2010 Breitbart received the Reed Irvine Accuracy in Media Award during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. During his acceptance speech, he responded directly to accusations by New York Times reporter Kate Zernike that Jason Mattera, a young conservative activist, had been using "racial tones" in his allusions to President Barack Obama, and had spoken in a "Chris Rock voice." From the podium, Breitbart called Zernike "a despicable human being" for having made such allegations about Mattera's New York accent.[16]

[edit] Activism

Breitbart often appears as a speaker at Tea Party movement events across the U.S. For example, Breitbart was a keynote speaker at the first National Tea Party Convention at Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville on February 6, 2010.[17] Breitbart later involved himself in a controversy over homophobic and alleged racial slurs being used at a March 20, 2010 rally at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. by asserting that slurs were never used, and that "It was a set-up" by Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party. Breitbart offered to donate $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund "for any audio/video footage of the N-word being hurled", claiming that they made it up. Breitbart insisted Congressman John Lewis and the several other witnesses were forced to lie, concluding that "Nancy Pelosi did a great disservice to a great civil rights icon by thrusting him out there to perform this mischievous task. His reputation is now on the line as a result of her desperation to take down the Tea Party movement."[18][19]

[edit] Websites

I'm committed to the destruction of the old media guard. And it's a very good business model.

— Andrew Breitbart, quoted by the Associated Press, August 3, 2010[20]

Breitbart has launched a number of websites, including Breitbart.com,[21] BigHollywood.com,[22] BigGovernment.com,[23] BigJournalism.com,[24] and BigPeace.com.[25]

Breitbart launched his first website as a news site; it is sometimes linked to by the Drudge Report and other websites. It features wire stories from the Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Presse, Fox News, PR Newswire, and U.S. Newswire, as well as direct links to a number of major international newspapers. Its Blog & "Network" links tend to run to the right within the U.S. political spectrum (e.g., National Review and Townhall.com). The site also features a search engine powered by Lingospot and a finance channel powered by FinancialContent. In 2007, Breitbart launched a video blog, Breitbart.tv.[26]

In 2008 Breitbart launched the website "Big Hollywood," a "group blog" driven by some who work within Los Angeles, featuring contributions from a variety of writers, including politically conservative entertainment-industry professionals.[27] The site, an outgrowth of the column "Big Hollywood" that Breitbart wrote for the Washington Times, addresses issues facing conservatives who work in Hollywood.[28] In 2009, the site used audio from a secretly recorded conference call to accuse the National Endowment of the Arts of encouraging artists to create work in support of Barack Obama's domestic policy agenda.[29][30]

Breitbart launched BigGovernment.com on September 10, 2009.[31] He hired Mike Flynn, a former government affairs specialist at Reason Foundation,[32] as Editor-in-Chief of Big Government.[33] The site premiered with hidden camera video footage taken by Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe at Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now offices in various cities, attracting nationwide attention resulting in the ACORN 2009 undercover videos controversy.

In January 2010, Breitbart launched Big Journalism. He told Mediaite:[34] "Our goal at Big Journalism is to hold the mainstream media’s feet to the fire. There are a lot of stories that they simply don’t cover, either because it doesn’t fit their world view, or because they’re literally innocent of any knowledge that the story even exists, or because they are a dying organization, short-staffed, and thus can’t cover stuff like they did before." Big Journalism was edited by Michael A. Walsh, a former journalism professor and Time magazine music critic.[34] It is now currently edited by Dana Loesch. The site has a fictional contributor named "Retracto, the Correction Alpaca" who posts items requesting corrections from the traditional media.[35]

BigPeace.com debuted July 4, 2010. The site covers topics such as international issues and foreign policy, the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, terrorism, Islamic extremism, espionage, border security, and energy issues.[citation needed]

[edit] Controversies

[edit] Anthony Weiner

On May 28, 2011, Breitbart posted a sexually explicit photo on his BigJournalism website of New York Representative Anthony Weiner obtained through Weiner's Twitter account.[36] Initially Weiner denied that he had sent a link to the photograph to a 21-year-old female college student, but after questions developed, he admitted to inappropriate online relationships. On June 6, 2011 Breitbart reported other photos Weiner had sent, including one that was sexually graphic. On June 8, 2011, the sexually graphic photo was leaked after Breitbart participated in a radio interview with hosts Opie and Anthony, though Breitbart stated that the photo was published without his permission.[37] Weiner subsequently resigned from his congressional seat on June 21, 2011.

[edit] Shirley Sherrod

On July 19, 2010, Breitbart posted two short videos showing excerpts of a speech by Shirley Sherrod at an NAACP fundraising dinner in March 2010. The videos ensuing controversy resulted in Sherrod being fired from the United States Department of Agriculture on July 19. After Breitbart was criticized for taking Sherrod's words out of context, he posted the complete 40-minute video of the speech.[38][39][40] The NAACP stated that the video excerpts aired by Breitbart were deliberately deceptive and said that he had "snookered" the group.[39][40] Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack later apologized to Sherrod and offered her a new job.[41] In 2011, Sherrod brought suit against Breitbart for defamation.[42]

[edit] ACORN undercover videos

Breitbart was also involved in the 2009 ACORN video controversy. Hannah Giles[43][44] posed as a prostitute seeking assistance while James O'Keefe portrayed her boyfriend, and clandestinely videotaped meetings with ACORN staff.[45] Subsequent criminal investigations by the Brooklyn District Attorney's office and the California Attorney General found the videos were heavily edited in an attempt to make ACORN's responses "appear more sinister",[46][47][48] and contributed to the group's demise.[49][50] Breitbart then provided a forum for O'Keefe on his BigGovernment.com website[51] and defended his actions on Sean Hannity's Fox News Channel program.[52]

Breitbart has also been embroiled in a controversy within the conservative movement related to the participation of gay group GOProud in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an annual conference held in Washington, D.C. by the American Conservative Union. In 2011 he was the primary host of a party that served to "welcome" the "homocons" to the convention (though it was the second year they had been participants). This flew in the face of a boycott staged by a few social conservative groups that were offended by the inclusion of GOProud within the conservative fold. Writer, producer, and publisher Roger L. Simon referred to the group as a "game-changer" for the Republican party, and asserted that it represented a turning point in the appeal that the conservative movement might hold for young people. Breitbart is now on the Advisory Board of GOProud.[53]

[edit] Personal life

Breitbart is married to Susannah (Susie) Bean, the daughter of actor Orson Bean, and has four children.[4][54]

Hi Kathleen,

Thanks so much for your New Year's blessings.

Yep, the fraud and great pretender is rapidly losing the Jewish vote. Proof of that is the recent 9th district special elections where a Jewish Democratic candidate lost to the Republican candidate. Just want to remind you that this district last had a Republican Congressman in 1922.

The black vote isn't a sure thing for B Hussein and rightly so. If you watched his speech before the CBC he lost his cool and was extremely angry cos they were and still are criticizing him and his actions or as they call it non actions. They're not buying his lies either or should I say anymore and the black community is the same. Losing 25% of your support base in what was considered to be a sure thing isn't an easy pill to swallow.

Thanks again and Shalom,

Peter

Quote:

Happy Jewish New Year, Peter!

I just was reading today that the Jewish support of Obama is less than 50%.

He also lost about one-third of his black voter support since 5 months ago, that's a lot in a short time!

Hi All,

This sign is creating quite a controversy in a Louisiana town. A homeowner has been putting up signs for months and the local progressive liberal Democrats are becoming verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry upset and claiming it's that dirty word RACISM. These idiots will use that teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrible word anytime anyplace when the fraud and great pretender gets the criticism he so richly deserves. Hmmmmm, I guess the truth hurts. :)

You gotta admit the guy has talent.

I'm posting the article from the local news and there is a gallery link that will take you to other pictures in addition to a news video from the local channel.

Shalom,

Peter

NEW ORLEANS -- There are several political signs attracting all kinds of attention in one Uptown neighborhood.

On Wednesday, crowds gathered at the corner of Calhoun and Coralie streets, looking at several signs depicting President Barack Obama as either a dunce, a puppet or a crying baby in a diaper.

"It disrespects the nation -- and President Barack Obama represents our nation," said Skip Alexander, as he looked at one of the signs. "He represents everybody, not some people."

Dozens of protesters came by the house in the 1500 block of Calhoun throughout the day, demanding the sign come down.

"He wouldn't do that to [President] Bush, I'm sure. It's just insulting. It's insulting," said C.C. Campbell-Rock. "He's going to have to take them down."

"This is nothing put pure racism," said Raymond Rock. "This is a disgrace."

The home is owned by Timothy Reily, who declined to be interviewed about the signs. Former Mayor Ray Nagin showed up at the house and went inside to speak with Reily. He emerged later and would not comment on what they discussed.

Some neighbors tell Eyewitness News that Reily has been putting the signs up for months. Some of the protesters learned about the signs through a local radio station on Wednesday morning.

"He can put up a sign if he wants to. It doesn't bother me," said Harold Gagnet, a neighbor.

"I think it's fine. It's on his property," said Katherine deMontluzin. "He can say whatever he wants."

The signs have created such a firestorm of controversy, though, that police came to the scene-- called in by City Council Member Susan Guidry. She represents the district where the home is located. Guidry said she was concerned about public safety and was trying to figure out if the sign was even legal. She also said she spoke to Reily, but didn't get far.

"We have to determine that there is a zoning law that prohibits perhaps the size of the sign, perhaps the way that it's erected, that it is leaning over onto public property," Guidry said. "Whatever we can use, we will, but of course, we do have to balance that with First Amendment rights."

Yet, the signs remain in place, fanning the flames of a free speech debate on both sides of the fence.

You've all probably seen this new short blurb from Joe Biden :) Doesn't sound good if ol' Joe is saying Barry is "responsible" now is it? Also heard a few months ago that Michelle and kids said one term is enough for them...so Barry has basically lost, especially NOW:

(I luv Herman Cain more & more every day! He's going to be on The Tonight Show tonight with Jay Leno, and then Herman is meeting with Donald Trump on Monday! COOL!! :)

Hi Kathleen,

Yep, I think the whole world saw that "blurb" and for the first time ever Biden said something of merit. I have a funny feeling the progressive liberals are having a nervous breakdown since their savior is going downhill fast and even Biden is cognizant of that fact. I'm sure he's also aware that the fraud and great pretender B Hussein might not keep him on as VP in the upcoming elections and he's really not got much to lose by telling the truth now. Even if he'll be on the ticket he realizes their chances of winning are dismal so truth time is here for good now. We've already seen the deterioration in his (BHO's) Democratic power base in house and it's widening every day.

Shalom,

Peter
