My cat Shelley was living in someone's shed and that person couldn't take her inside, so she asked if I wanted her. That was about 12 years ago.

My cat Nadeeta lived in a trailer with a partially paralyzed man whose daughter had bought her, but could not keep her in her apartment. Nadeeta was in heat and crying constantly, so the man gave her to my husband. That was about 5 years ago.

My cat Toby was rescued by someone, whose husband didn't want her to keep him because she already had lots of rescued cats. She took him to a pet store in a carrier and I happened to go to the pet store at that time. She was crying because she didn't want to give him up. He was tiny and scared, cowering in the back of the carrier, so I just had to take him home! :) That was about 4 years ago.

My cat Sonny we rescued from the local shelter. We have had him for almost one year now.

So....I guess all four of them were rescued cats. They are totally spoiled of course!

Hi Donna!

My sister had 2 cats and one of them died unexpectedly last year, he was only a few years old.  Then the female cat cried relentlessly for a month!  So my sister got 2 new kittens who tore up the house but kept the older female busy with her new "kids". 

I remember when my parents also got a female cat from the shelter, after she had kittens that were also given away to other people.  When we brought this cat home, she searched every corner of my parents house for 2 weeks, crying and looking for the kittens that she had lost somewhere, they had been given away at the animal shelter.

Our Meowzers also had kittens before we got her, and then we brought her home with Minnie who was still very young, but not her daughter.  Meowzers would treat Minnie like her own kitten, even though Minnie was about 6 months old and did not want to be babied.
