Dear Alain,
Thanks for your always kind words.
First two years at my Grammar school I have learned French. It was a few centuries ago :) ... and also was too short time to learn it seriously. Still I know by heart "Barbara" (J.Prevert) and La Marseillaise ... If I listen to French - cann`t understand too much. But when I read it ... I understand mostly (similarities with Latin and Spanish). And all French poetry has been translated in my native; in fact it is very helpful.
Yesterday I didn`t comment your 7 truths :) . If the last of them was as true as we understand truth - I am not sure if Bill Gates would have more money than you. With it you just prove the rest written before it. Serious, honest and gifted people cann`t create their path than that way. I am now looking forward to hear about one brilliant way to create your fortune. It is time. I am sure this poem would be inspiring for you :
Moments
(by Jorge Luis Borges)
If I could live again my life,
In the next - I’ll try,
- to make more mistakes,
I won’t try to be so perfect,
I’ll be more relaxed,
I’ll be more full - than I am now,
In fact, I’ll take fewer things seriously,
I’ll be less hygienic,
I’ll take more risks,
I’ll take more trips,
I’ll watch more sunsets,
I’ll climb more mountains,
I’ll swim more rivers,
I’ll go to more places - I’ve never been,
I’ll eat more ice creams and less (lime) beans,
I’ll have more real problems - and less imaginary ones,
I was one of those people who live
prudent and prolific lives -
each minute of his life,
Of course that I had moments of joy - but,
if I could go back I’ll try to have only good moments,
If you don’t know – that’s what life is made of,
Don’t lose the now!
I was one of those who never goes anywhere
without a thermometer,
without a hot-water bottle,
and without an umbrella and without a parachute,
If I could live again - I will travel light,
If I could live again - I’ll try to work bare feet
at the beginning of spring till the end of autumn,
I’ll ride more carts,
I’ll watch more sunrises and play with more children,
If I have the life to live - but now I am 85,
- and I know that I am dying …
This poem has so huge impact on my life.
Some of his brilliant quotes :
"Time is the substance from which I am made. Time is a river which carries me along, but I am the river; it is a tiger that devours me, but I am the tiger; it is a fire that consumes me, but I am the fire."
"To die for a religion is easier than to live it absolutely."
"To fall in love is to create a religion that has a fallible god."
"Democracy is an abuse of statistics."
..... Jorge Luis Borges ...
I do not wish to turn your POTW forum into poetic one, but must share here one poem more, written by our very own Kathleen VanBeekom :
If you knew
there would be
Fireworks
outside your
window
Would you stay
awake or
wake up
early or
a lot?
If you tried
to talk to
Fireworks
what would they
say back?
Would they say
you're crazy,
go back
to sleep now,
Okay?
And then if
you knew they
could talk
to you then
would you
Stay awake
or wake up
early
or a lot
at night?
Just to see
and to hear
Fireworks
outside your
window?

Praising and blessing her beautiful heart, still sensitive for those little joys .. I`d finish ... wishing you ALL BEST!
