	Hello Kathleen, These are Russian red eggs for Easter. Orthodox like to have painted red or other coloured eggs for Easter and each woman tries to make the most beautiful. Dimitra

	They are VERY beautiful! Each country has it's own beautiful traditions, in USA we just dunk the eggs in multi-colors...well that's the childrens way, to make rainbow colors (or a big disaster!)
