	Hello Lydia! Well, this is a nice proverb in your language. Everyone is best in his area and Greeks in philosophy. A nice Greek proverb says: "They selected the wolf to guard the sheep" meaning they have chosen somebody corrupt who will destroy what is good. click above -Greek Song "The wolf and the sheep" I know also an equal in Swedish "De satte en varg att valla fåren" (They asked the a wolf to guard the sheep) "valla" here means to guard. It is a Old Germanic and Norse word. Seldom it is is used in Egnlish i.e. "wallhound" from Norse "vallhund" which is the shepperds dog as the picture above. "Wallhound" is also a rare English word used for same guardian dog. This is ment proverb is used for political purpose or for a community where a bad friend leads the group. Yes, wolves and sheeps often are opposed in many languages of the world There are lots of proverbs and sayings on this theme in Russian language too Expression "They selected the wolf to guard the sheep" is clear, it is also using in Russian language. Also Russian speak in such cases - "Пустить козла в огород" - direct translation: "To put the Goad to the kitchen garden" and it is corresponding to: "To put the cat near the goldfish bowl " in English language. 	So nice subject Lydia! We usually say for someone, whom we cann`t trust, that he is "The wolf, dressed in the lamb fleece". People considered with a sheep attitude are naive and benign ... Those who also always search for another`s opinion and guidance, also are considered as a sheep. It is also considered they they do not think too much - just have a behavior of the heard. A very interesting forum, it is amazing to see that even in different languages we have very similar proverbs.
