As usual Nick!!

I am still laughing.  I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall - not that I would have recognized either one of the "Robbers"

So funny!

Thanks,

Judy

Walking Garbage CanHi Nick,
This was, indeed, a wonderful story.  People would wonder why the woman did not go over to the many cashier's windows and cash in her winnings.  The first time that you experience the thrill of winning at a casino, your thoughts are not of hurrying over to cash in your winnings.  The stigma of knowing that you have a bicket full of quarters (or tokens) is more important than how much you won.  Such was the case with Shirley and I. This was also at Atlantic City at least fifteen years ago. We also had a bucket full of quarters and instead of cashing in, we took the bucket and decided to go to another casino and see if our luck would continue.  The bucket was heavy and as we exited the casino I tripped on the carpet and the quarters went flying everywhere.  People scrambled to scoop up the coins and as one black man helped me up, people were coming back and dropping coins back into the bucket that Shirley was now holding.  We saw young and old, black, white, Hispanic, rich and poor scooping up the quarters to return to us.  The bucket wasn't quite as full as it was, but I had seen at least four people stuffing quarters in their pockets.  They were the best dressed white people in the crowd.  I was amazed.  People that looked like they had not had a meal in days returned the money, but those that stepped out of chaufer driven limo's were the ones that kept what they scooped up.  We decided to go back in and cash in what we had left.
GOD BLESS YOU
Mike

Hello Nick
Thanks a lot for this  wonderful story. My heart is wedded to the black people. I'll tell the story to my friends. When I found out that all mankind, YES ALL MANKIND comes from one single clan from Kenya, I felt that I had come home to mankind!!!!                              At my job there has arrived a black person recently, his name is Jean Claude, born in Burundy (near Tanzania) and I am enchantè by his appearance, his laughter and his kind and gentle manners. He is very tall, like the Massaj people. I told him a little about la Foi Bahai  and I showed him the international Bahai site and he was so enchanted by the mere sound of Bahai and the name of Bahaullah that he started to say loudly among all the others there BAHAULLAH, BAHAULLAH  and J'AIME BAHAULLAH!. =I love Bahaullah. He appreciated this very much:," Mankind is but one family"... l'humanite est une seul famille". Moreover he said" I know what you (bahais) believe in." I protested, you do not know very much of what we believe, how could you do that already? But he insisted saying, in French:. I believe  that you believe in God. Guess what that means. It means he has such an innocent pure heart and I write this spontaneously because I am so happy, and now I have to refresh my old schoolFrench.
Bye for now
Kind regards from Laila

Hi Nick,

I think this is wonderfully said.  It is what we assume of people, we think the worst and get the best.  Well I guess they got the best, they had a good laugh.  :-)
