Good warnings. My thoughts are generally along the lines that the disaster scene is in our continent so it should be easier to know who or which organizations are legit. Our connections have roots in an organization called Mennonite Central Committee that has a disaster/relief response division called MDS, Mennonite Disaster Service. I'm not sure how there set up for the N.Orleans scene but I'm sure you will see these volunteers get into action soon. Anyway, there should be ample to choose from w/o donating a nickle to the "lower than a snake in a wagon rut" bottom feeding low lifes.
