RE: HSIG- Islamists Threaten Insurgency Should Secularists Win Egypt Election
5/21/2012 9:54:58 AM
Hello Friends,

Democracy in Egypt? Not likely and as things progress in Egypt it's a concept that is not even open for discussion. It's only B Hussein and his regime that backed the islamic spring and threw a long time ally under the bus and others of his ilk that even mention democracy when talking about Egypt.

So far the radical Muslim Brotherhood and other islamists control the Egyptian parliament and now the presidential elections are ahead. An Islamic Jihad Organization member Sheik Usamah Qasim unequivocally stated that should a secular president be elected it would lead to armed action and his fate (the elected president's) would be the same as Anwar Sadat who was assassinated by the radical islamists.

So much for democracy and as expected the only accepted result of their elections is if a MB candidate will be elected. A sharia controlled Egyptian government is the only result they will accept. I warned that this would be the eventual result but the nay sayers thought a western version of democracy was spreading like wildfire throughout muslim countries. At least that's the lie the B Hussein regime was spreading but we know it was simply part of his long term islamic agenda.

So, Egypt will eventually be a mirror image of Iran and it's not far from that right now. B Hussein can stand tall and proud how well his plan is working. Will the west benefit from another radical jihadist muslim country I surely doubt it and we can already see the inroads into this present administration the MB's succeeded in 'capturing" and this is only the beginning.

Shalom,

Peter

Islamists Threaten Insurgency Should Secularists Win Egypt Election

| @mrubin197105.20.2012 - 11:00 AM

Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while still mayor of Istanbul, famously quipped, “Democracy is like a streetcar. When you come to your stop, you get off.” Alas, as Martin Kramer has so often warned, it appears that Egypt Islamists are taking the same tact. On May 19, Islamic Jihad Organization member Shaykh Usamah Qasim took to the pages ofAl-Misri al-Yawm to warn that Islamists would not tolerate a victory by any of the non-Islamist candidates. According to a translation provided by the Open Source Center:

…The victory of former prime minister Ahmad Shafiq or former Arab League chief Amr Musa in the coming presidential elections would lead some Islamic and non-Islamic groups to respond with “armed action.” “Thus, the fate of any of them who reaches the presidency will be like that of former President Anwar al-Sadat, who was assassinated,” Qasim said.

One-in-three Middle Eastern Arabs live in Egypt. Unfortunately, it looks like the Nile may once again flow with blood.

RE: HSIG- Unexpected Results Of A Deal With Iran
5/23/2012 7:49:17 AM
Hello Friends,

The latest round of negotiations with Iran is just an additional time saver for the Iranians to carry on with their nuclear program AND also saves B Hussein from having to commit to more serious actions against Iran. We all know by now the Iranians have no intention in stopping their uranium enrichment program and their "agreements" during talks are meaningless.

All B Hussein is interested in is "quiet" during the election campaign since he has enough trouble as is. The added Iranian issue would be more then he could handle. So he has no problem endangering his allies and in this case it's not only Israel but some of his close Muslim allies. He's become an expert at throwing his allies under the bus.

Dry Bones has an interesting take on this issue and is as close to the truth as can be. Be sure to read the article below the Dry Bones graphic.

Shalom,

Peter

according to this piece in Israel HaYom:
"Don’t underestimate Obama’s willingness to undercut current allies (including Israel and Saudi Arabia) in the process of cutting a deal with the Iranians. There is much more at stake here than the mere stymieing of Israeli attack plans.

The interim agreement with Iran that the P5+1 powers seem set to conclude with Iran in the Baghdad talks this week – involving the suspension of Iran’s 20 percent uranium enrichment – is dangerous on four levels.

Firstly, the deliberations over the exact details of this agreement are likely to drag out for months, into the fall, giving the Iranians time to surreptitiously enrich even more uranium and to continue their explosives testing work. Of course, this suits Obama’s election timetable just fine because Israel dares not strike Iran while supposedly “positive and successful” negotiations are under way."

Secondly, according to all reports, the emerging understanding with Iran would leave all its nuclear development facilities intact, including the Fordow underground center, instead of dismantling them. This allows the Iranians to continue refining their nuclear skills. Even at low levels of enrichment (3.5 and 5 percent, which is not useful for a bomb) this provides a framework with which Teheran can bypass Western restrictions and hoodwink Western inspectors.

After all, Iran has clandestinely crossed every “red line” set by the West over the past 20 years – putting nuclear plants online, building heavy water facilities, refining uranium, working on explosive triggers and warheads, and generally breaching all its obligations under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty – and has gotten away with it.

So any deal that scales back sanctions and allows Iran to keep operating its advanced nuclear development facilities even at a low-level – is a fatal bargain. So says a new study by Simon Henderson of the Washington Institute and Olli Heinonen, a former deputy director general of the IAEA. Centrifuge technology is easy to hide, and reaching low-level enrichment is 75 percent of the work towards a bomb, they warn.

Worse still is the nagging suspicion that Obama’s emerging deal with the Iranians involves tacit recognition of their hegemony in the Gulf region – which is what Teheran is truly after. This was the implicit warning brought to Israel last week by one of America’s top experts on Iran, Dr. Amin Tarzi, director of Middle East studies at the Marine Corps University in Quantico. “Iran wants nuclear capacity and a warhead,” he says, “for imperial purposes, to prove that Iran is a special and great country, and to be able to dominate the Gulf region and the broader Middle East. Teheran is unlikely to use a nuclear warhead, but it wants to have one in order to achieve the status of a regional superpower, to be an equal partner with the US in dominating the Middle East.”

Could it be that Obama is prepared for a seismic shift in US alliances in the region, moving from partnership with the much-weakened princes of Saudi Arabia to a “grand civilizational bargain” with the ayatollahs of Iran? Might he quietly acquiesce in an Iranian leap to nuclear status in exchange for understandings with Tehran on division of power in the region? Keep the American withdrawal from Iraq in mind. Iraq controlled by the Shiites (and heavily influenced by Iran) could easily become a bigger oil exporter than Saudi Arabia.

Finally, could all this be a prelude to implementation of Obama’s grand (second-term) vision of nuclear thinning-out and global disarmament? Obama could yet turn to the Russians, Chinese, French, Indians, Pakistanis, Iranians, and yes – to Israel too, with the demand to disarm. Israel has understandings with the US about its nuclear policy, originally reached by Richard Nixon and Golda Meir and reportedly reaffirmed in 1998 (by Clinton and Netanyahu) and in 2009 (by Obama and Netanyahu). But in the context of grand bargain with the Iranians (and by extension, with much of the Moslem world), might Israel’s nuclear status also be targeted for troublesome attention?

I say: Beware Obama’s Baghdad understandings. Heed his long-term goals of resetting America’s relations with the Moslem world, and don’t underestimate his willingness to undercut current allies (including Israel and Saudi Arabia) in the process. There is much more in play than the mere stymieing of Israeli attack plans.

RE: HSIG- Shavuot Begins At Sundown Saturday Night 5/26/12
5/25/2012 8:10:06 AM
Hello Friends,

Tomorrow evening at sundown Shavuot - The Festival Of Weeks begins. It is the second of three major festivals (Passover and Sukkot are the other two) that required going up to Jerusalem with the first fruits and bring them to the Temple.

Shavuot has agricultural aspects to it and dairy products are especially recognized during this holiday. The below article gives more information about Shavuot and I hope you enjoy reading it.

Shalom,

Peter

The holiday begins at Sundown on Saturday night.

Happy Shavuot Holiday!!

Shavuot

Jewish Holidays: Table of Contents | Upcoming Dates | Holiday Food

Shavuot, the Festival of Weeks, is the second of the three major festivals with both historical and agricultural significance (the other two are Passover and Sukkot). Agriculturally, it commemorates the time when the first fruits were harvested and brought to the Temple, and is known as Hag ha-Bikkurim (the Festival of the First Fruits). Historically, it celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, and is also known as Hag Matan Torateinu (the Festival of the Giving of Our Torah).

The period from Passover to Shavuot is a time of great anticipation. We count each of the days from the second day of Passover to the day before Shavuot, 49 days or 7 full weeks, hence the name of the festival. See The Counting of the Omer. Shavuot is also sometimes known as Pentecost, because it falls on the 50th day. The counting reminds us of the important connection between Passover and Shavuot: Passover freed us physically from bondage, but the giving of the Torah on Shavuot redeemed us spiritually from our bondage to idolatry and immorality.

It is noteworthy that the holiday is called the time of the giving of the Torah, rather than the time of the receiving of the Torah. The sages point out that we are constantly in the process of receiving the Torah, that we receive it every day, but it was first given at this time. Thus it is the giving, not the receiving, that makes this holiday significant.

Shavuot is not tied to a particular calendar date, but to a counting from Passover. Because the length of the months used to be variable, determined by observation (see Jewish Calendar), and there are two new moons between Passover and Shavuot, Shavuot could occur on the 5th or 6th of Sivan. However, now that we have a mathematically determined calendar, and the months between Passover and Shavuot do not change length on the mathematical calendar, Shavuot is always on the 6th of Sivan (the 6th and 7th outside of Israel. See Extra Day of Holidays.)

Work is not permitted during Shavuot.

It is customary to stay up the entire first night of Shavuot and study Torah, then pray as early as possible in the morning.

It is customary to eat a dairy meal at least once during Shavuot. There are varying opinions as to why this is done. Some say it is a reminder of the promise regarding the land of Israel, a land flowing with "milk and honey." According to another view, it is because our ancestors had just received the Torah (and the dietary laws therein), and did not have both meat and dairy dishes available. See Separation of Meat and Dairy.

The book of Ruth is read at this time. Again, there are varying reasons given for this custom, and none seems to be definitive.

List of Dates

Shavuot will occur on the following days on the American calendar:

  • May 27, 2012 (Jewish Year 5772)
  • May 15, 2013 (5773)
  • June 4, 2014 (5774)

RE: HSIG- MSNBC: Don't Expose Muslim Atrocities; It Will Make Islam Look Bad
5/26/2012 8:13:37 AM
Hello Friends,

I found that I could agree with much of what Mona Eltahawy says and applaud that she is speaking about the abuse women suffer under Islam. One thing though that she emphasized that annoyed me was the blame she placed on Mubarak's regime. Mubarak's regime was secular in nature but the laws of the land were Islamic. In other words the blame for women's abuse isn't Mubarak's fault but Islam and shariah law.

It already is much worse under the rule of the muslim brotherhood and will continue to deteriorate as time passes and they become more entrenched in their rule. Let's remember that these jihadi fanatics are planning to write a new constitution and woe to women, Christians and any other religion living in Egypt. Mona will look back on Mubarak as the good old days before you know it.

That said, the video is a prime example of how MSM deals with "sensitive" islamic issues. It's very simple, they don't report it cause it will make Islam and the barbaric muslims look bad. Got it? Just act as if it never happened and by doing that they empower them even more cos they know they can get away with it.

Shalom,

Peter

MSNBC: Don't expose Muslim atrocities; it will make Islam look bad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z0DB2XOoHc&feature=player_embedded

In response, Eltahawy was right on point: "It’s not me that makes Muslims look bad. It’s those atrocities that make Muslims look bad." I have made this point hundreds of times -- but the Islamic supremacists' "Islamophobia" fog machine is intent on obscuring it, with eager help from the Leftist mainstream media.

"MSNBC: Don't expose Muslim atrocities: Harvard professor doesn't want 'fuel' against Islam revealed," by Colin Flaherty for WND, May 22:

MSNBC’s new golden girl was in a pickle: If someone sees a black person committing rape or domestic violence, should he report it if it makes black people look bad?

Or if Muslims see wife-beating, genital mutilation and childhood sexual abuse, should they just keep it to themselves, because saying something gives ammunition to the “Islamophobes”?

The questions appear to be simple. But they posed a challenge for the host of the new “Melissa Harris-Perry” show when guest Mona Eltahawy talked about her Foreign Policy magazine cover story about abuse of women by men in the Muslim world.

Eltahawy speaks from experience: She had her arms broken in a demonstration in Egypt and was tortured and raped in an Egyptian jail cell.

So she seemed surprised to find Harris-Perry questioning her right to draw attention to “traditions” such as involuntary female circumcision, wife-beating and childhood sexual abuse.

“I start with a little bit of trepidation in this conversation,” the host said, “in part because I know some of the critiques of this. The very idea that Western press, those that are not from these nations, who are not Muslim ourselves, who are not part of these traditions can look at your article and say ‘ahhh, look at how horrible those men, or those societies, or that religion is.’

“And that is part of the reason why, for example, we have an under-reporting of rape and domestic violence in African American communities,” Harris-Perry continued. “Because we know the violence enacted on black men by police, so we often don’t call. Right?”

Then the MSNBC host brought in Harvard professor Leila Ahmed, who questioned whether Eltahawy should have written the article at all. Not because it was false, but because it made Muslims look bad.

“You began, Melissa, by noting that some things in the African-American community are not publicized precisely because of the racism,” said Ahmed as Harris-Perry nodded in agreement on a split screen.

“Mona, I appreciate what you do,” continued Ahmed. “I would love it if – I understand if you want to get your message across. It’s an important message. But if possible [you should not] give fuel, fodder to people who simply hate Arabs and Muslims in this climate of our day.”

Eltahawy seemed taken aback.

“That’s the whole point,” she said. “It’s not me that makes Muslims look bad. It’s those atrocities that make Muslims look bad. And as a writer, it’s my job to poke the painful places.”

Harris-Perry declined to respond to a subsequent email asking if she ever refused to report a violent crime because it would make someone look bad...

HSIG-PA TV teaches kids:Christians and Jews are inferior, cowardly and despised
5/26/2012 11:10:16 AM
Hello Friends,

The "moderate" Palestinian Authority (PA) time and again rewrites history, glorifies jihadi terrorists, demonizes Jews and Christians and much more.

Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reports on all these issues and it's all documented and proven and not lies and obfuscations that the muslims are so adept at. The below article is an example of PMW's reporting on how the PA brainwashes their kids and teach them to hate Jews, Christians and well anybody who isn't muslim.

Shalom,

Peter

PA TV teaches kids:
Christians and Jews are inferior,
cowardly and despised
Christians and Jews said to be "enemies of destiny"
Violence also glorified
by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

A young Palestinian girl was asked to recite a poem during a PA TV children's program. This poem, according to the host of the show, teaches children "responsibility and belonging."

The messages of "responsibility and belonging" in the poem include:
1. Insults to Christians and Jews:
"They are remnants of the [Christian] crusaders and Khaibar [Jews]," and are "inferior and smaller, more cowardly and despised."
2. Christians and Jews are the "enemy," referred to as:
"the enemies of destiny."
3. Violence is glorified and encouraged:
"Where is my weapon? I found it - a stone. I took it and threw it at the enemies of destiny."

Palestinian Media Watch has documented repeated hate speech including denial of Israel's existence and demonization of Isrealis on this PA TV children's program.

The following is the transcript of the poem:

PA TV host: "You are going to recite a poem, which also teaches us responsibility and belonging."
Girl: "... The occupier stole my land and my grandfathers' land...
Where is your sword, Khaled (Arab warrior)?
Where is your courage, Saladin (Muslim conqueror)?
But no one answered me.
Where is my weapon? I found it - a stone. I took it and threw it at the enemies of destiny. I taught the world that the Muslim in the name of Allah cannot be defeated...
They challenge us with the White House, and we challenge them with the [Islamic] awakening and the Kaaba [in Mecca]. They aren't stronger than Khosrau and Caesar (rulers of Persian and Byzantine Empires).
They [Christians and Jews] are inferior and smaller, more cowardly and despised. They are remnants of the [Christian] crusaders and Khaibar (i.e., Jewish village destroyed by Muslims in 629)...
Oh Muslims of the world: Awaken, you have slept too long.
Your fathers and your sons are being massacred, your Al-Aqsa [Mosque] is defiled and destroyed."
Host: "Bravo! Applause for our friend Lara."
