RE: HSIG - UN Amb. Prosor Explodes ‘Myths’ of PA-Israeli ‘Struggle’

Hello Friends,

There has been a continuous stream of demonizing Israel for the past few years. This is ongoing and the main culprit is the UN. Last week the Israeli Ambassador to the UN came up with a list of "myth busters" to educate the moronic UN membership, which in a large part is controlled now by the 57 Islamic countries whose organization is known as the OIC.

Ambassador did a good job with his myth busting IMO as you'll see in the below article.

Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Ron Prosor tore apart several myths Monday in an “Open Debate on the Situation in the Middle East" in the United Nations Security Council.

After quoting Winston Churchill’s statement, “In the time that it takes a lie to get halfway around the world, the truth is still getting its pants on,” Prosor methodically brought up and tore apart myths that he said have fertile ground in the Middle East.

“Facts often remain buried in the sand. The myths forged in our region travel abroad – and can surprisingly find their way into these halls,” He said.

- Myth number one: “The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is the central conflict in the Middle East. If you solve that conflict, you solve all the other conflicts in the region.” Prosor told the Council members. “The truth is that conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Bahrain, and many other parts of the Middle East have absolutely nothing to do with Israel.

“It is obvious that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict won’t stop the persecution of minorities across the region, end the subjugation of women, or heal the sectarian divides. Obsessing over Israel has not stopped Assad’s tanks from flattening entire communities. On the contrary, it has only distracted attention from his crimes.

"Thousands are being killed in Syria, hundreds in Yemen, dozens in Iraq — and yet, this debate again repeatedly is focusing on the legitimate actions of the government of the only democracy in the Middle East. And dedicating the majority of this debate to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, month after month after month after month, has not stopped the Iranian regime’s centrifuges from spinning.

- Myth number two: “There is a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.”

The Ambassador pointed out that even the Deputy Head of the Red Cross Office and “numerous international organizations have said clearly that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.”

He added, Gaza’s real GDP grew by more than 25 percent during the first three quarters of 2011. There is not a single civilian good that cannot enter Gaza today. Yet, as aid flows into the area, missiles fly out. This is the crisis in Gaza.”

- Myth number three: “Settlements are the primary obstacle to peace.”

Prosor said he can save time for the UN Human Rights Council, which has proposed another ‘fact-finding’ mission to Israel – this time to explore Israeli settlements. He said that “the facts have already been found,” explaining that when Egypt and Jordan controlled Judea, Samaria and Gaza between 1948 and 1967, “The Arab World did nothing – it did not lift a finger – to create a Palestinian state. And it sought Israel’s annihilation when not a single settlement stood anywhere in the West Bank or Gaza.

Prosor charged that the Arab world’s “primary obstacle to peace is not settlements [but]…is the so-called ‘claim of return’ – and the Palestinian’s refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

He said that claims that Israel is “Judaizing Jerusalem” are “accusations [that] come about 3,000 years too late. It’s like accusing the NBA of Americanizing basketball.” Prosor also said that the percentage of Arab residents in Jerusalem has grown from 26 percent in 1967 to 35 percent during the period that Israel supposed has been exercising “ethnic cleansing.”

- Another myth the Security Council has overlooked for the past 64 years, when Israel was reestablished as a state. is the “one great untold story, or – to be more specific – …more than 850,000 untold stories [of] Jews…uprooted from their homes in Arab countries,” he said.

Prosor pointed out, “These were vibrant communities dating back 2,500 years [but]…were wiped out. Age-old family businesses and properties were confiscated. Jewish quarters were destroyed. Pogroms left synagogues looted, graveyards desecrated and thousands dead."

“The pages that the UN has written about the Palestinian refugees could fill up soccer stadiums, but not a drop of ink has been spilled about the Jewish refugees.

-- He told the Council he “saved the most obvious myth for last: the myth that peace can somehow be achieved between Israelis and Palestinians by bypassing direct negotiations. History has shown that peace and negotiations are inseparable."

“Palestinian leaders continue to pile up new pre-conditions for sitting with Israel. They are everywhere except the negotiating table.“

Hi Peter and All,
I find it amazing that a tiny country such as Israel gets blamed for the woes of the world. If Israel could weld as much power and influence as the ignorant masses seem to think , wouldn't they have stopped all the rockets from Gaza , the economic crisis (which I understand is effecting them as well as the rest of the world ), global warming LOL and the hang nail on my little toe .. ? Truth is Muslims, Sunni and Shiite hate each other nearly as much as the they hate the rest of the world. But hey blame Israel they make a great scape goat ..

Hey Geketa,

You're so right. Israel has been the scapegoat for all the woes of the world for quite a while now and things don't seem to be getting better. The amazing thing is that while people are spouting their vile nonsense the majority know it's not true but it's the popular view to hold and repeat ad nauseam.

Israel has been effected by the world economic crisis but much less then the rest of the world. And that's due to correct economic solutions and policies that the present government has instituted.

Shalom,

Peter

Allen West: Muslim Brotherhood & Other Extremists Are Influencing U.S. Strategy
4/26/2012 11:22:28 AM
Hello Friends,

Alan West has a remarkable command of so many different topics and issues. The amazing thing with him is that not only does he spew facts off at a machine gun pace he has the sources to back up what he says.

In the below article and video he explains how the Muslim Brotherhood and other extremist groups have infiltrated the present administration and the different security services/organizations and have a major hand in policy making. This is a disastrous situation and as long as the fraud and great pretender B Hussein and his regime remain in control things will get progressively worse day by day, week by week and year by year so that before you know it you won't recognize the United States anymore.

It's time to take a stand and say no more. We have to do all in our power to insure B Hussein will be a one term president and send him back to Chicago. Maybe the mayor there will appoint him to the position of the local community organizers czar in that political cesspool.

Shalom,

Peter

Allen West: Muslim Brotherhood & Other Extremist Groups Are Influencing U.S. Strategy

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:17am by Billy Hallowell l

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is never afraid to take a stand on the issues he holds dear, which is why the conservative politician is taking aim at the FBI for removing nearly 900 pages of allegedly-offensive training materials. According to West, this action, which was taken after Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) complained about some of the materials’ contents, is a form of “cultural suicide.”

Durbin, who wrote a letter to FBI director Robert Mueller about the situation, complained that the controversial documentation could lead Muslims and others to be targeted based on their religion. “There is a real risk that agents will be operating on false assumptions about Arab-Americans and American Muslims,” Durbin maintained.

Allen West: Muslim Brotherhood & Extremist Groups Are Influencing U.S. Strategy

West, though, said that the removal is evidence that extremist Muslim groups are holding sway over U.S. strategy. He discussed the issue of “tolerance” and its relation to the situation in an interview with Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning.

“We have to understand that when tolerance becomes a one-way street it leads to cultural suicide,” he said. “We should not allow the Muslim Brotherhood or associated groups to be influencing our national strategy.”

West’s main concern is that the U.S. seems to be watering down its definition of who America’s enemies are. In an attempt to decrease how intensely officials offend extremists, the politician claims that leaders are potentially endangering the nation.

“If we continue to be recalcitrant in identifying who the enemy is and want to be less offensive to them, then we’re going to put ourselves in a bad situation,” West proclaimed. “Now you have an environment of political correctness which precludes these agents from doing their proper job and due diligence to go after the perceived threat.”

Watch West speak further about this scenario, below:

The subject of radical influences on the U.S. government has been gaining prominence in recent years. On Wednesday, GBTV will air a live documentary event called, “Rumors of War III.” The program will tackle many of the same themes West addressed in his interview on Fox News this morning, as the film tackles extremist groups’ infiltration of the United States.

Following the documentary, Glenn Beck will sit down with guests from the movie who will weigh in on the threats posed by the Muslim Brotherhood, among other groups. GlennBeck.com has more:

The guests joining Glenn include Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin (Former Undersecretary of Defense Intelligence), Andrew McCarthy (Author of The Grand Jihad and former federal prosecutor), Diana West (Author of The Death of the Grown-Up and conservative columnist) and Buck Sexton (The Blaze National Security Editor).

RE: HSIG - Fitch Gives Israel an A with a Stable Outlook
4/27/2012 2:24:50 PM
Hello Friends,

Good news again for Israel. In September 2011 S&P raised Israel's credit rating from A to A+. While many countries are experiencing the opposite trend Israel through a strong fiscal and economic policies didn't suffer the economic disasters we're seeing world wide.

Now Fitch another credit rating company raised Israel's credit rating to A. Even though this year we'll experience a lower yearly growth rate then in the past few years it's still above the averages for many other countries.

You can read all the details in the below article.

Shalom,

Peter

Fitch credit rating agency announces it has ratified Israel's credit rating and set it to A with a stable outlook.

The Fitch credit rating agency announced Wednesday that it had ratified Israel's credit rating and set it to A with a stable outlook, the Globes financial newspaper reported.

In a statement, the agency noted Israel’s macroeconomic performance and indicated that it left the outlook as stable despite the crisis with Iran and the talk about a possible Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.

According to Globes, Fitch is estimating that growth in Israel in 2012 will stand at about 3 percent, noting it is a temporary decline compared to the growth in the years 2010 and 2011 which stood at over 4 percent. As well, Fitch is estimating that Israel’s economic growth in 2013 will stand at 3.5 percent of the GDP.

According to Richard Fox, an analyst with Fitch, the agency’s forecast does not include Israel’s natural gas discoveries which will have an effect on the local economy, particularly since they can protect Israel from a possible future increase in world oil prices.

On the other hand, Fox told Globes, the forecast does not take into account the possibility of an escalation in the Israel-Iran crisis. He added that he believes things have died down recently in this area, especially in light of the contacts between the West and Iran and the tightening of the sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

In response to Fitch’s announcement, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz said, “Given the economic situation in the international markets, the ratifying of the rating is a testament to the stability and strength of our economy. In addition, the announcement further emphasizes the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline.”

Two months ago, Steinitz met with representatives of Moody’s Investors Service and asked them to raise Israel's credit rating.

In September, the world's largest credit rating agency, Standard & Poor's (S&P), raised Israel's credit rating from A to A+.
