Dear Myrna,
Following an inspiration, I would like to present a short panorama of the Peruvian culture as my modest homage to this exceptional forum. It is very imperfect and of course incomplete, as it has been made just on the spur of the moment, yet at the same time with love.
Peru comprises three great regions of most diverse sceneries, as their climates are most different from one another. They are the Coast, the Sierra or mountain Range, and the Amazon Jungle. Today I would like to focus on the second, by far the most rich in cultural expressions, though all three regions are equally beautiful and inhabited by like wonderful people.
Peru is in the west side of South America, its main feature being the Andes
chain of mountains clearly visible on the photo above
The Uros people live on floating islands made from "ichu" on Lake Titicaca, the huge Peruvian-Bolivian lake located on the South East of Peru (at over 4,000 meters over the sea level)

I just hope to be able to show you a little bit of the cultures from our Coast and Jungle very soon as well. Here is a little sample in advance.
The preincan Moche Culture. in the North of the Peruvian coast, is famed by its ceramics. Here is a warrior offering his macana to his Lord (Archives)
And here is a video of our great Macchu Picchu ruins to end this show for now . I hope you don't mind its being in Spanish.
