Hi Sandy,
One good thing about this election is we are able to voice our opinions more openly than ever due to the internet, so whether one is Democrat or Republican, it is good to see the mindset of those who post and how many are starting to see the two party system is broken, has been for years, so hopefully it will change in our lifetimes as the internet does a better job of educating people than all the liberal slanted press does. The internet is leveling the playing field by allowing the truth to come out, so thanks for starting this thread, it is very interesting to see peoples viewpoint on issues.
For me, I look to the past to see what the future holds. After all, it seems everything repeats over the years, and the same is true in politics. We have all heard the same BS over and over, yet do we ever see any real change as promised. I call it bobble head politicians as usual, they say what the people want to hear, but never mean it. lol Sound familiar? They call is bending the truth, I call them liars. I have never been a fan of the two party system, and I feel it should be by popular vote, forget this delegate BS. This is just another way to manipulate the votes of each of us and take it away in close elections as we saw with Gore who won by popular vote. Is this a system what we really want?
Personally, I think the two party system is beyond repair, and we need real change, and when you do your research, Senators rarely make good Presidents, even if they are long term senators like McCain. Only 15 elected Presidents in history were Senators, can you name them? Just kidding, but in most of our lifetimes we have only seen one which was halfway decent. One was killed before we could really see any results, the other was impeached, so that will give you an idea how little I think of any Senators who run for President, never mind the junior know nothing, no experience Obama the community leader. I was a community leader, so nothing wrong with this, but come on, how can people compare this to being a mayor or governor, never mind Obama is not running against the VP nominee, Palin. lol
This past week after Republican convention was almost commical how the Democrats cannot respond on any valid points, so they attack Palin with lipstick comment. We should not be voting for VP selection, we should be voting for President, but this has been the focuss by Obama on only VP in last week. Funny to watch this happen, lipstick quotes and all. lol Anything to avoid comparison to Palin in experience, even though she is not the one running for President. Sure, it helped energize McCain campaign, and he needed it for he is not the dynamic speech reader like Obama is, but come on people, we need to concentrate on the issues which will impact us most, not the best speech reader on lipstick. lol
I was amused even more when age came up, and Palin was made out to be too young to be President if McCain was to die. Can you believe this, she is 44 and Obama is 47, so is age an issue? This is how deperate it appears the Obama camp is now to grasp at straws. Heck, the same can be reversed with Biden, what if Obama died, then Biden would be in office, and he is 66 as I recall, so is this that much different than 72? lol As I see it, these bobble head politicians we have running this year need to get on topic and forget this nonsense of age and lipstick. As I say, you can put lipstick on a bobble heads, and they are still a bobble heads. LOL
So which bobble head will win, we shall see, Mike
