Yes, I've been to Singapore, very clean and proper looking. Not so laid back as Vietnam or Thailand, slightly more regimented.

Yeah, I can see you really "splurged" on the last hotel and got screwed in the bargain.

It's amazing how you can travel and actually spend less on the trip then you would holidaying in your home country.

Singapore???? Completely different story. Prices are sky high, no smoking, no chewing gum etc. Lots of nos there but it is a beautiful

You're correct about holidaying in your own country, we can blame the tourists for that here. But they don't entirely miss you in Vietnam, we caught a ferry across a river and the ferryman asked double for the fare. Luckily we were wised up and offered him half.
