Very interesting!  You get a culture shock everywhere in Asia
except perhaps Singapore.

Travel is good, especially as an educational tool, and it's great
to learn about different cultures.

Yes mate, but they seem to embrace the American dollar, more so than the Aussie dollar, which was harder to convert to dong.

Actually the last hotel in Hanoi was "over" priced @ $25 per night. Our tour guide recommended (too late of course) a better one at a better location for $15. Unreal!

The only drawback was when asking directions because very few shopkeepers and business people speak English, even some of the tour guides were hard to understand.
