Hi Evelyn,

I can totally understand your fears about having Obama as President.
We need to work hard to see that does not happen.

I love McCains pick Sarah Palin for Vice President!  What a surprise! She will do a great job! :)

He helped himself tremedously by picking such a fine conservative woman that has experience. She actually has more experience then Obama! And she is pro-life! You got to feel good about that!

Blessings,
Len

Hi Kathleen,

Love the Headline!  May that be the Headline in every Newspaper in the Country on the morning of November 5th!

Thanks also for the reminder of John McCain's Birthday.

As for "Jimmy", here's one of my favorite Quotes by the only man of Character that we have been blessed to have serve as President of our Country during my lifetime, Ronald Reagan...

"Recession is when your neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his."

Matter of fact, had we gotten it right back in 2000 and elected John McCain as President back then, the same could have been said about Bill Clinton.

Have A Happy Labor Day,

Phil

Len, I wholeheartedly agree with McCain's choice . From what I'm hearing and reading I think she fits the bill perfectly and I'm begining to feel much better about this election. I believe this election is very crucial to the future of the USA.

To Phil and Mary Evelyn,

My parents were also staunch Democrats, my mom LOVED Jimmy Carter, and she's been saying she would either vote for Hillary or Obama, she wanted to vote for the first female or first black president.  My mother has a kind heart, she was raised in a poor multi-racial neighborhood in the 1930's and 1940's, she really wants to see everyone get a fair shake in life.  I know she's very happy about a woman becoming the VP for the Republicans, she was happy about Geraldine Ferraro on the Dem side in 1984.  My mother told me she actually voted for Bush in 2004, that was different for her but I think she really disliked Kerry.  My father, on the other hand, is very secretive about who he votes for, but I know one thing, he pressures my mom to vote the same way he does.  I won't know if my dad votes Republican once in awhile unless my mom tells me!  My parents are Irish Catholics who live in suburban Philadelphia, so Obama's choice of Joe Biden from Delaware might be a factor, but they also sometimes have issues with peoples' personalities, so it depends on whether they like or dislike Joe Biden, if they will or won't vote for Obama.

INFO ABOUT SARAH PALIN, McCain's choice of VP:

Sarah Palin became mayor at age 32, beating out a 3-term incumbent mayor from her same party.  That's hard to do!  A town of 9,000 is more people than Obama, Clinton or Biden has ever been responsible for!

She's been Governor of Alaska since December 2007, a state of 600,000 residents, and has an 80% approval rating!  The people of Alaska say she's accomplished more in 20 months than her predecessor accomplished in 12 years.

Alaska had one of the most, if not THE most corrupt governments of all the states before she became governor.  She stood up to the corruption and many of those legislators have since left office in shame.  In 20 months, she has vetoed more than 300 wasteful spending bills, stopping more waste than any other governor.

As McCain said when introducing her, "We need a government that STANDS UP FOR US...NOT STANDS IN OUR WAY!!!"

Sarah Palin has done a lot of traveling around that huge state, many of the towns are far apart, and she has put in more personal effort and has met more people face-to-face than the governors of most states.

Alaska is one of our most important energy-producing states and she knows a lot about energy resources.  She's the ONLY governor or senator who has ever been to ANWAR, and can give the best information and advice about possible drilling there.

She outshines Obama AND Clinton and Biden.  Senators just push papers around and sign a few things once in awhile, and don't even work every day, they show up when they feel like it.  Governors are in charge of entire states and responsible for all the people in their state, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mike Huckabee, the Governor of Arkansas, said a governor gets more experience in 1 month than a senator gets in numerous years.  Governors are basically running their own small countries.  Sarah Palin is more ready than any long-term senator.

John McCain is a senator, but he was also a Navy Commander during a war, in charge of the safety of many people, in charge of their planes and equipment.  He's ready, and she's ready, they are BOTH more well-prepared to be President and VP than Obama and Biden, or Hillary Clinton.
