I will bet none of you were expecting ME!!
Hi Joe, Jim, Georgios and everyone. A little while ago I saw Georgios pop up on the screen and I clicked and here it sat until a few minutes ago when I got to read some of the posts in this fine forum.
I purposely refrained from posting in here during the election. I am not exactly what one would refer to as politically motivated or enthused. I have spent more time dwelling and reading about what is happening in this country and globally in the last 12 months than I have in a lifetime.
So, that little confession out of the way, I will admit that the dwelling and reading that I have been doing has also had me praying a lot - for the leaders of our country and others - who spend a lot of time making promises that they are not going to be able to keep. That is not to say that they don't WANT to make those changes, it's that they are not going to be able to.
Branka, always calls me the Queen of Simplicity - well, in all honesty, I am. This all gets way too complicated for me. There are so many issues that I easily see both or three sides of. So why argue a point one way if you can easily argue it the other as well?
Well, Georgios, I have to agree with this and I could never have put it so eloquently!
"Difficult days are coming for your country and the whole world. At the beginning more people will HOPE together with The President for better times to come but the Heavenly manna will not come. HOPE you know doesn't fill empty stomaches. To give something to the poorest he mus take it for some others. Who is willing to give away his property. NOBODY. Barack Obama will not be able to do much."
So, I am not EXPECTING bad things to come. I am praying that all will start improving. I do know what I have read though, and I am preparing for things to stay as they are or go down hill for a while. After 61 years and almost 32 of them spent as an accountant in the construction industry, I can tell you that I have never seen a down trend quite like this one and I have been through quite a few.
Now if I just go with what my gut is telling me (and it has ALWAYS been my best guage of anything) - it gets pretty depressing. If I choose to stay positive, pray, help whenever and wherever I can, and know that in the end this is just life on earth and there are better things to come - every day is a great day!!
I hope you are having one!
Hugs and blessings,
Judy
