Hi Nick,

Talking about recruiting from the Prisons reminded me of one of my favorite movies of all times...

Of course, this was first out in 1967, probably before most of you can remember, in fact, before many of you were even born.  It starred Lee Marvin, who actually served heroically during WWII as a Sniper with the U.S. 4th Marine Division and was wounded in battle at the WWII Battle of Saipan.  In the movie, 12 Murderers were recruited for an "Impossible" Mission behind Enemy Lines.  Of course, most were killed in combat, however those who survived were Pardoned.

Speaking of Honoring our Flag, Click on "Old Glory" below, for a Tribute that I hoped you might enjoy...

Thanks Again my Friend, for such a Great Thread.

Have A Beautiful Week,

Phil

Hey Phil,

I was wondering when you would show up. :)

The Dirty Dozen was also one of my favorite films. The use of felons in military service was actually used for centuries. In recent history aside form the USA; France and other countries had "programs" like that. Mostly used in war time and not in peace time.

In addition we've all heard of judges that accepted deals where a felon will enlist rather then be convicted and go to prison.

So it isn't a far fetched idea and has been used in the past.

Shalom,

Peter
