Re: Light Bulbs, Congress and the Chinese - 2014 Incandescents Obsolete

Hi Jim,

I am glad I happened to see this post.
Thank you for sharing the absurdities of our congress. I am thankful for people like Rep. Ted Poe also.

Americans this fall if they want to change things remove these fools I mean members who voted for this stuff.

In the mean time stock up on the conventional light bulbs folks.
Made in China unbelieveable well actually it is everything else is. I wonder if china uses these light bulbs I doubt it. I am sure they are laughing all the way to the bank.

We need a energy bill that moves us forward not backward. Once we start drilling in places like Awar Alaska the price of oil will start  coming down. Doing nothing is Harry Reid and Nancy Polsey's idea of a good energy bill.

Thanks again Jim for sharing, it was very enlightening.

Hi Jim,
I did not mean to raise your blood pressure, but I did want to get folks attention about what kinds of UNJUST LAWS that have been  passed as you pointed out .. we were unaware we were putting  people in office that represented us.. Its seems that the elected officials in the WHITE House needs two lunches .. one for both sides of their faces.

Len,
You are right .. we need to have a MAJOR house cleaning party in the White House .. the liberals need to go and so do many of the Republicans ..

We need honest good ole boys and gals running this country not a  bunch of  money hungry , power thirsty  nitwits. I sometimes wonder if they don't clone look a likes for the people we actually vote for. ;)

Blessings,

Geketa

Dear Jim,

Americans are fed up with runaway gas prices and bloated oil-company profits, but Senator John McCain and President Bush's proposal1 to drill for oil along our coastline will only increase Big Oil's bottom line. Their move to open up our coasts for Big Oil is making headlines all across the country today -- I woke up to commentators on NPR talking about coastal oil drilling.

We can't drill our way out of high gas prices. Tell Congress:

"Oil drilling off our coasts is just another Washington gimmick. Drilling won't help us with high gas prices -- it will only help Big Oil make more money. Congress must stop Big Oil's drilling plan."

Click here to sign the petition

The truth is that offshore oil drilling won't help with high oil prices2 or ease the pain at the gas pump for American families.

We're launching a petition with our friends at MoveOn.org urging Congress to reject the  plan to help Big Oil drill along our coastline. Will you add your name to our petition telling Congress to stop Big Oil's drilling plan? Click here:

http://action.sierraclub.org/offshoreoil

Any oil found along our coasts wouldn't be available until 2030.2 By then it would only add to the oil industry's tens of billions of dollars in record profits -- at the cost of our nation's pristine beaches and wild places. As my grandfather would say, "Their proposal to drill our coasts makes about as much sense as throwing buckets of gasoline on a burning building."

The call for oil drilling from Senator McCain and President Bush this week is another Washington gimmick -- and this time at our expense.

Please add your name to the petition that we'll deliver to Congress next week as they consider the FY2009 Interior and the Environment Appropriations bill to protect our coastline.

Thank you for protecting the planet,

Hi Jim ,

Here is another idea that will help stop high prices at the gas pumps.. kindly reminder . Many of us remember what happened when we Boycott .. as a united force .. KMart was put on the knees when conservatives refused to buy from them while they had smut on the shelves in plain site that our impressionable young children had access to? They almost went out of business until they sold waldenbooks  their book department ..

WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA-GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON--
Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it.
It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods.

We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of  Saudi Arabia   Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Here is the companies that sell Saudi oil
These companies import Middle Eastern oil :

Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco...........................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo......................from Venezuela , from a Dictator who hates Americans, nationalized (stole) the US companies that discovered, drilled for, extracted and refined the oil

Here are some large companies that
DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil!  Do THIS, instead:

Sunoco...................0 barrels
Conoco..................0 barrels
Sinclair................0 barrels
BP/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess.......................0 barrels
ARC0....................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy; each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions !

Here is how to do this .. just send the above information to as many people as you can telling them your findings go through your contact list and send out emails.

Blessings,

Geketa
