So, Jim, What can we do about this?  It is time we Americans start a plan of action.  We just sit and watch "absurd" things like this happen.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Oniece,

I am not Jim but here is my suggestion .. start writing letters at the state level and than write to the congressmen in your district and keep writing them if everyone wrote one letter a day to each of them .. I would venture to say they might take notice.. and better yet .. if we would stop the insanity of putting these kinds of "nit wits"in the White House we would not be faced with such absurdities in the first place.

Hi Geketa,

I am not sure how much the white house had to do with this light bulb fiasco, but if you think that part of the government is bad now, wait until next year. 

I don't mean to sound doom and gloom because I am not.  I am going to have a good year next year in spite of who get elected to the top job.  

Thanks Jim for bringing this to our attention.

Geketa, I like your suggestion about writing to congressman.  A sample letter I think would be a good post here and directions or a link to find your congressman's address and phone number would be good too.

I hope that we can get beyond the politics and stop our congress from doing stupid things like this.

Hello Oneice, Geketa and Ken,

Geketa's suggestion is a great way to start.  Also you could share this thread in a blog post, forum comment or anywhere else that has an open forum.  There are many things that our government has done and are doing that makse you go hunH??!!!

Silly decrees like making Incandesent bulbs obsolete, and making the replacements manufactured in only one place.  Then that place not being a US Manufacturing company, supporting US Jobs. 

Just makes me go WHAT THE H*&L!!! 

Who are these people that seem to be a half a tank low on smarts?

Did we put these people in office? 
Did I tell those idiots to do that when I voted for them?

Are they speaking for me? 

I DON'T THINK SO!!!

We have to be talking about and telling everyone including our government representatives.  Look these people WORK for US!!!  We have to REMIND THEM.

You ask for a place to get in touch with folks on the logal level here is a site you can visit and on the left hand of the site you will find links to your state in question .. it is a site for family issues, but they also have links to your represenitives statemens,governers and local elected officals..and of course the White House. If you need more help getting in touch let me know.
