Kathy, my personal opinion in answer to one of your questions is that the word 'Christian' is a label that people often use to associate themselves with a particular belief system and nothing more. And therefore for many, the name 'Christian' when not used in it's rightful context is merely a label and comfort blanket to, like you said, hide behind. Acts 11:25-26, Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called CHRISTIANS first at Antioch. before this name was given to them they were simply known as disciples. Just on that note, I wonder if people would still hide behind the name 'disciple'. Anyway, If you look at Matthew 24:24 Jesus tells us to watch out for false Christs and false prophets. Unfortunately there are many false Christ-ians in the world, especially in these last days, and that's why we are fearfully reaching a point where we have to ask about 20 questions to see what type of Christian a person really is. It's sad, but something that has to be done. The disciples were not following a religion by any means. They were following a true and living God who gave them the power to proclaim His name & they demonstrated His power wherever they went. They did not choose to attach themselves to any label but instead a label was attached to them because of who they represented, Christ. Do you remember in Acts 19:13-16, Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. (One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

My conclusion is that false Christians will be exposed. Literally!

As a Disciple of Christ i want to give you a thought, anyone? is there a differance between a Christian and a Disciple?
