Re: ART AND CRAFTS - WAYS TO ADVERTISE AND SELL YOUR WORK

Good morning everyone,

Sorry to be so late in joining. Been very busy.

A few ideas for some of you. I do have my own website as well as an Ebay store. Another way to sell I've discovered is:

our local consignment shop has set up glass cases for artisans to rent.($30 monthly) They add 10% to the cost of my items for their hard work. The cases are locked and only they and me can open them. I go in once a week during season and every other week off season to restock or redesign the items inside.

At the end of the month I get a check and an inventory of what has sold. So far it has been the best and easiest for me. Off season I sold a few low dollar items (lost leaders) as well as high dollar.

I have a problem with craft fairs as so many are selling jewelry and beaded items. You need the prime spot and be first as they walk in the door down here to make a sale. Also with 3 organ transplants I have to control the environment I'm in so many of the fairs in the winter are out for me.

Another way I sell items is in my classes. I teach 5 classes a week. I create a few designs to show, and then make up kits with all the necessary items for the students to make a similar item.. This helps to pay for my creating addiction to buy more to make.

When it is an intricate design they do not want to try, they buy mine.

I"ll I'm asking in return is that you tell your friends and family that you are showcased on that particular page of my site, I"ll give you the page address.

Hello, Jenny,

Long time getting around to this one!  Just been checking on things I have missed and came across your forum.

Just wanted to let other artists know about a place I just found.  It is called Zazzle - http://www.zazzle.com.  It is a lot like CafePress but actually more user friendly.  I have been with CafePress many years and have several shops with them but it is slow to design, create and publish products.  My best shop is: http://www.cafepress.com/adorablehummers

Also, both of these offer affiliate programs.  Always looking for more ideas and places to sell artwork.

Thank you for the forum.

Jenny and Judy,

What a sad story Judy and I am sure Adlander's will respond.  I visited Brenda's website and it is beautifully designed, I will place her banner on my index page at

God's World of Blessings

To place the image here, just click on image in message and place the url in the popup.

Goodluck to Brenda and thank you.

Hi People

Thank you for continuing to post your links and other valuable  ideas for promoting and selling our work.

I am not filling up the forum or bandwidth with "thank you" replies as this is a forum which is much read and used as a reference point  for us all -in and out of Adland- and it works well this way.

So if I havent thanked everyone individually - please know that the thanks is given.

Judy, it will be a pleasure to help your friend.  I will put her link on ApSense Community too - and if she can, she might like to join there too - she can make a business site free, which is highly "googled"

To make the banner on a forum like this -  you put a hyperlink to the banner with her site - and you post the banner as a graphic.

Otherwise - you insert it in html.  And I will have to look up how to do THAT - as I am still a professional computer illiterate!

The Apsense link for her to join and make a free business centre is

http://www.apsense.com/invite/alasycia

And we have an Artists and Artisans Place Group there where she can post her work and link too.

You can also show some of her work on Rose's Artshow

http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/thread/423695.aspx

You will also find lots of links in this forum too where her work can be advertised

Love to all
Jenny
