According to Leviticus chapter 23:32 the bible says the Sabbath is from sunset Friday to sunset on Saturday.

"It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls...from even to even shall ye celebrate your sabbath."

Christ set us the example, in that He went to church on the Sabbath.

"And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Luke 4:16
