Hi Mary,

Our friends are the chipmunks. Every spring we leave a trail of peanuts in their shells, it goes through the garden and up to the patio.

Every day they get braver and braver until by about mid July, then we can feed them out of our hands.

My Grandchildren love it!! Who am I trying to kid... I love it too!!  LOL

Thank you for this lovely forum.

Your Good Friend

Deborah

Hi Deborah,

How cute.  I sometimes have chipmunks  too but they don't stay around here long with "Boo"  the kitty cat.  I think I read too that you can put terra cotta planters turned and partly buried for little hang outs for chipmunks.

Deborah, thanks for stopping by with your account of your little friends of the garden.

Hi Mary,

What a fun forum  :-)

We have 5 hummingbird feeders and lots of visitors everyday.  They surely love the blooming flowers in summer!  They are an amazing bird and such a reminder of God's work!

Our other unique friends, however, are the ducks, geese, and ever so vocal bull frogs.  We live on the edge of a lake, it is so much fun to watch them everyday, and especially in the spring when the babies are born.  It is never quiet, I can tell you that!

Bless you,  Jill

Jill, thanks for stopping in to see all our little garden friends.  About those frogs, can't they make a huge sound for their size.  Imagine if in proportion to our size what a noise we  could make if we consider the size of bullfrogs and the racket they make.

come back often when you have time.

http://photos.wildmadagascar.org/images/lateralis1020_0091.shtmlHi Mary and friends,

we are lucky here, where I live, that the developers haven't totally destroyed all our flora and fauna (although they are working hard on it)

We are visited by an enormous variety of birds - including some escapees from the local Ornothological Park in the form of parrots!

We are also showered by leaves, olives and bits and pieces from trees, caused by the nibbling of both red and grey squirrels, at certain times of year.

Not so welcome are a few snakes that hide in roofs and other unexpected places.

But the best of all are the remaining few Chameleons who are occasionally found in trees and paths.  they are a protected species and are very nearly extinct here, but every now and then......

The ones we have here look a little like this (between 3 and 10 inches)

And to see lots more, try this page

Does anyone else have these lovely creatures in their garden?

Saludos

Jenny
