Hey there Beth- I didn't share with Mary the reason I like this story so much.
When I inherited this property (and the work) after the storm, I was out there every day digging through decades of pounded down gravel-the yard had been a driveway since the late 70's.
I took more than my share of ridicule for thinking I was going to get a garden out of it.
Well, three years and lots and lots of 'cracked pots and rusty 'thingys' and whatever i found that had shape or color-my yard is still not what you would call a garden-but not a day goes by that someone does not stop to tell me how peaceful and beautiful it is.
I wanted to make an oasis of peace in the midst of chaos and at least for me it is and I think for the passers by as well.
(Oh-I just goggled 'cracked pot'-LOL)
