Motivation is not always a positive behavior. Some are motivated to get attention by any means, some to get money without working for it, some to con others. They have motivation but not the type that leads to positive outcomes. On the otherhand, lack of motivation can result from negative life experiences that kept the person feeling hopeless, worthless, depressed, confused etc. A person can be motivated but just lack skills, tools, finances or confidence to achieve the goals they would like to achieve. I guess that is partly what makes life interesting, there are so many types of people. DonnaZ

Hi Tim , you are absolutely correct, all the people that I brought to marketing seminars seem to be excited only until the person starts to talk on stage doing the presentation, then they start yawning, oh this is boring is there a coffee shop near by. How do you figure. Thanks for the reminder Tim lol.

Hi Tim Thank you for a very 'mind-boggling' post; I say mind-boggling because it surprises many a person. However, I would say that we go listen to a motivational talk, whether we benefit it from it depends on what 'personal' motivation we have within us and whether we have gone to attend the talk with a 'purpose'. Becausee if we have gone there without either of them the chances are very good that we would indeed be yawning half way through and end up saying, "What was so great....I knew it all!" We need to have excitement in out lives with what we want or need to do. Excitement never goes un-noticed; it is like an earthquake hundred of miles away, but you can both feel and see the effects of it. How much one feels or sees depends on the strength of the quake. If we want to or need to see results, my suggestion is to get 'excited' with our 'personal motivation' and our 'purpose'! Excitement....the Mother of all Results! Myke http://www.MyGift4Life.biz
