AdlandPro Artist Colony (AAC) Editor's Note

Dear friends,

It is with a big pleasure to introduce you my dear friend and former countryman, IBRAHIM HONJO .
We both use English as a second language, and I hope you won't being bothered when we fail to make a good translation.

Pablo Picasso stated that "Art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth." I feel free to apply more or less useless analogy to the language. It enables us as to express ourselves, as to share understanding and misunderstanding :).

Ibrahim Honjo is an amazing person, and very fruitful artist, whose maturity promotes an approach to the world from the angle of man born on turbulent soil.

Here, I'd bring some of his poems, as well as a few of his paintings and sculptures. Feel free to share your impressions and to ask if you feel the need to ask something.

Thank you for your time to make the visit.

Love the arts - arts makes life more human and creative!

Sincerely yours,

Branka Babic

THIS IS THE MOMENT

(Dedicated to Tatjana M.)

This is the moment when all could have occurred
The sea could have glistened in your eyes
You could have demolished golden rocks with your look
Or become a lady of the coastal land
Or a lady of the open sea
This is the moment when even non-existent things collapse

This is the moment when on X axis
Rays of love are emitted
When flaming passions are being restrained and silenced
When it is possible to fly and fall
This is the moment when we all remain executioners
This is the moment when even non-existent things collapse

This moment has been stopped for a reason
The moment when all could have occurred
All remained only passing by
Because this is the moment when even non-existent things collapse

THE STONE

They never asked me
For my name
They wanted my identity card
Or its number

I did not have one

I said Stone

They laughed
Asked me where I came from

From the stone - I said

They asked for my age

Twenty pebbles – I answered
And showed them gray spotted pebbles

They are an openess of their hearts to me
I am a tighteness of the doorway on the invisible wall
Which divides us

And I am going away

THE NARO

I come from the river Naro
The tribe of Narensii
We have been here longer
Than even science is aware

I will never return to the river Naro
My beloved is from the Grand River

In the river Naro
Barefoot girls do not wash clothes
Beardless boys do not row in canoes
My Naro has been intersected

I will never return to the river Naro
Her name has been changed

From the river Naro cold fogs are misting
Both she and I were tricked

The waters of the river Naro are flowing through my veins
Her amazingly green waters
My Naro has been intersected

Never mind – her waters I hope
They are never made turbid

I am from the river Naro
And she is a part of me
I will never return
Because my beloved is from the Grand River
She and I have been there from time immemorial
