Hi Peter I forgot to give you this.

Peter Fogel was away for a week
and all his friends were puzzled
what could have happened to him
was he in the hospital?

Anyone have a phone number for him?
we searched but could not find one
this is strange that he would go
off line without telling anyone!

He is back and his friends are delighted
he guided six American tourists, gleeful
to see his country and visiting the places
he likes as well as he got paid in shekels

I am glad to have you back Peter
and look forward to the photos you took
I will all go to Around the World Photo Club
and be sure to take a good look.

Hi Amanda,

That's awesome!! Thanks so much for the poem.

You got one thing wrong though. I got paid in $s. :)

Your concern and friendship is much valued.

Shalom,

Peter

Hi Peter,

..now why didn't you say you paid in $$..trying to think
up a word to rhyme with shekel was quite a challenge
there for a while..!*lol*

I did not know Israel accepts US dollars, what else can
you share of every day life that we would not know?

Hi Amanda,

You are quite right. The legal tender in Israel is the NIS, New Israeli Shekel but with foriegn tourists most of the transactions are in $s or other foriegn currencies.

In order to spend you have to change the money into shekels either in banks or other institutions. We are allowed to deal and hold all currencies and exchange them when needed or there are favorable currency rates.

Sorry you had to work hard to find a word that rhymes with shekel but who said life is easy? :)

Shalom,

Peter
