JeanMarie, this is a wonderful forum you have started.  Yes, we can change the world, we can make it a better place.  You have faced the challenge of survival and know that each day is important, actually each moment of our lives we should learn to appreciate.  I have not been faced with health issues but other things that brought me to appreciate what God has given and what He gives each day when I wake and know that I have at least one more day to work for Him. 

I hope you will come over and read my bio in the POTW.  It is not so important that I won this week, just that I could actually tell others about me.  I have always had a problem with that.  With every kindness we do, there will be a reward if only from the joy of knowing you have helped someone else.

Congrats on your win & thank you so for your thoughtful post! I am so glad you could use your bio to share of yourself.....

I was confronted today by someone who was intimidated by the level of passion that I have for life and the people who are in mine.

When I asked him why, he said, "I guess maybe because I'm afraid to share that much of my heart & soul with strangers".

To which I responded with....

"If you hide your inner light, how will you help find those lost in the darkness?....  If you don't open the gate to your garden, how will you welcome visitors?.....  You only get one life to leave your mark on mankind, to leave a little piece of yourself in the hearts of others. If you don't reach out, that one special person, who crosses your path on that one special day, may go unnoticed, never to pass your way again.  "
