I live in the mountains of North Carolina in a very small, but very touristy, town. The long-range views of the mountains are breathtaking! We have visitors, whom we welcome, from all over the country! I have two wonderful sons, ages 23 & 20, and a gorgeous grandaughter, age 22 months. My elder son is the youngest and most productive member of his firm. He just received "Keyman of the Year Award" and is being honored at a banquet. My younger son is a Junior at UNC @ Chapel Hill, N.C.,the #28 university in the nation. He plans on acquiring a PhD in some field of Biology, perhaps medical research. I give thanks daily to God that they have turned out so well. I raised them alone for 12 years.
My most faithful companion, to date, is my dog, Winston. (Is "a faithful man" an oxymoron?) Winston is a 4 pound, 7 year old Yorkie. His full name is "Dr. Winston O'Boogie" I stole that name from the late, great John Lennon who once referred to himself that way. (His middle name being Winston, of course after Churchill) I've lived in the South all of my life, although I've done some very minor travel. Part of my travel includes Paris, London, Liverpool, the Bahamas, Canada, & Alaska.
Being one of the few women who'll own up to her age, I will readily admit that I had the most fabulous time seeing the Beatles in concert! I was 12. I missed Woodstock by the skin of a jealous boyfriend who wouldn't allow me to go with my best friend (a male). My friend and I had known each other for years! Man, if I had it to do over again............Mama always told me "too soon old, too late smart!"
That is my picture, but it is 5 years old. I tend to shy away from cameras. My younger son took the picture when I was 51. I haven't changed too much over the years.
I've had a book published (not self-published) & contributed a comedy bit for the nationally-known, but very Southern redneck humor, The John Boy & Billy Big Show. The bit's called "Miss Dipesto's 25 Rules for Men", which I wrote under the pseudonym, Gloria Haywood. It's now on a CD & made "The Best of John-Boy & Billy", so I feel quite humbled by this. I also write song lyrics and poetry.
Internet marketing is totally new to me! Talk about feeling like a dumb hillbillie! (Actually, I taught Special Education for 25 years.) But I must say, if anyone is actually making money out there, tell me your secrets, please!
If you've actually read all of this, I applaud your tenacity!
Have a lovely day & may the peace of our Lord be always with you!
