I'm an almost-retired management consultant who for the past thirty years has had the immense privilege of working in many parts of the world (indeed, every continent except Antarctica!) but is now looking forward to a very different home-based lifestyle, seeing more of my wife (44 years this year!) and working with our local church where I share the preaching and teaching responsibility with the Pastor. There is no plan to give up working completely. After a short period to wind down and recover from the intense activity of recent years I'm planning to develop further our family's internet-based businesses - the main one being bookselling. Having had my own web sites of varying types since 1996, and writing software even as far back as 1968, I want this to be an enjoyable as well as profitable occupation picking up on skills that have not been in such great use of late. There'll still be some travel, as pulling out of the consultancy business should give more space for Christian ministry (chiefly Bible-teaching) to encourage business people, especially in countries where it is difficult to run a successful enterprise with integrity due to widespread corruption. Oh, and there's the garden to look after, and our garden-related web sites .....
