About Me
About Me
Hello & Welcome. My name is Donna St. Andre' and I am the owner of Donna's Work Alternatives & Resource Center (dwarc.com ) and Donna St Andre's Your Affordable Gifts (youraffordablegifts.com / youraffordablegifts.net). I am a stay at home / work at home mother of 2 boys. My first son Christopher (Chris), who by the way doesn't live at home any more, is 27-years of age and my other son Patrick (Peanut) will turn 9-years old this June. I know big stretch; but it's a good stretch. :-) (Smile). Anyway, below is a brief overview on where I was and how I got to where I am today.

Prior to becoming a stay at home / work at home mom back in 1997, I worked for Sony Electronics as a Technical Specialist for their line of PC's. Prior to that, I worked for Sprint for 8 years. I started my career with Sprint as an Independent Contractor (clerical position) in their collections department which later development into employee status in the roles of Customer Service Representative in the Business Office located in Ft. Myers, FL and then later I accepted a position of Systems Analyst in Altamonte Springs, FL.

I moved back to Ft. Myers, FL in 1996 an accepted the position of Technical Specialist with Sony Electronics until Patrick came along. When Patrick was born in 1997, I took a family leave of absence from Sony Electronics anticipating returning to work after my family leave was exhausted. However, when it came time to return to Sony Electronics, I just couldn't bring myself to leave peanut with a sitter or send him to daycare because of breathing problems he had among other things. So, I started searching the Internet for home-based work.

I had great success with online researching for jobs. I landed a part-time salaried position as an Independent Contractor doing data entry. Within 6-months time, the position grew into a full-time salaried independent contractor position with duties ranging from customer service to web page development and maintenance, from new product research and development to beginning computer programming, from management and supervisor capabilities to internet research, marketing, advertising and more. However, due to the slow economy and lack of business, the company had no choice but to cut my hours back to part-time. Did I fret? Well maybe a little because I am a single parent; but I didn't fret as much as I could have. Why not you ask? Because of the position mentioned above, I learned new skills and it provided the tools and resources I needed to start my own home-based businesses, which also lead to the birth of my websites.

I offer Virtual / Personal Assistant Services, Home-Based Work Related Resources, Fund Raisers, eBooks & Software, Premium Soy Candles, Accessories, Incense & Oils, Scented Soap Flowers, Games & Toys, Recreational Items and Much More...

Thank so much for the compliment... I worked really hard getting the look and feel I wanted for my personal website. I do have one from emerchant http://www.youraffordablegifts.net but I don't like it and it's never brought in any sales in the year I've had it. I haven't let it go because of the amount of money I invested in it... Plus I also own YourAffordableGifts.com, which is only a gateway/mirror page.

I did just finally get rid of my merchant account & gateway with emerchant on youraffordablegifts.net because it wasn't cost effective since it's not bringing in any sales, so I implemented paypal for it. On my personal website, dwarc.com, which I disigned & maintain, I use option cart for the online catalog and enter what things I want to feature myself. I use stormpay, paypal & propay for order processing.
