While vacationing at the beach recently, my husband and I enjoyed going for a walk along the shore in the mornings, followed by a refreshing swim in the lake. Rather than putting my running shoes back on again after swimming to walk back to our van, I went barefoot. The walk through the soft sand of the dunes, however, was very difficult, even unpleasant, until I began walking in my husband's footsteps. As I did this, I thought how much that resembles our Christian walk.
When we walk alone, it can, at times, be difficult, maybe even unpleasant, but when we walk in the Master's footsteps, things are so much easier.
Psalm 77:19 - Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. (NIV)
Even though we cannot always see the footprints of our Lord, when we walk by faith in Him, He will lead us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are always with us. Help us to trust You as we walk through life, seeking to follow in Your footsteps every step of the way. In Jesus' name. Amen. --Dee Renaud--
