Twenty Three Year Old Blooms Again!

This a Aloe Vera plant that my wife and I have carried around and cared for 23 years.  We have repotted it several times and are always giving away babies.

Jim, thanks for posting, that is quite unique.  My cousin in SC recently sent me pictures where their Aloe Vera plant had sent up bloom stalks and we are awaiting the blooms.  Never knew they bloomed.  That is a long time to keep a plant!

Hi Jim,

As soon as I saw your photo, it caused me to think of this little cactus that started blooming after I thought it was dead (because I'd neglected to water it for some time) and was going to throw it out. My husband asked me to water it and see how it went because it was his mother's (she is elderly and lives with us). We couldn't believe what happened! The bloom looks like your Aloe Vera. Can you tell if this is actually an Aloe Vera? My daughter, who lives up north in a warmer climate, gave me a baby Aloe off her plant to bring home back in February (hot here). She said it should take off like hers do, but it hasn't grown any more since. At least it isn't dead I guess, LOL.
