Gunther, it is a Red Spotted Purple Admiral.  I seem to not be able to get my fingers and brain going in the right direction today.  Sorry about that.  I meant Speckled and in some books that is what it is called.  Whatever its correct name is, don't you think it is beautiful??  And to think it set there long enough to be photographed, that was amazing - right in our garden.

I have not entered in a long time as you know and this one was in one of the past contests but did not win, so I wanted to try again.  To me it is a winner no matter what anyone thinks because it was a thrill for me to get to photograph it.

I made it here, aren't you proud of me for that at least??

Sara, my dear, dear, friend, in no way was my post meant to be critical of your LOVELY picture of that BEAUTIFUL Butterfly.  You certainly know a whole lot more about Butterflies than I ever will and I was only referring, in a somewhat mirthful manner, to the color of the Butterfly only.  If I offended you in any way with my post I sincerely and profusely apologize to you.

Sara, I admire everything you do, you are a lady I greatly respect and I am indeed very proud to count you among my friends here at ALP. 

In my humble opinion you are an extremely talented person and that certainly includes your photographic skills.  You are absolutely correct in your assessment of your picture, it IS a winner in every sense.

I certainly hope you will give all of us here at ALP, and especially your many friends, the constant pleasure of seeing your photographs entered in The Photo Of The Week Contest.

Red Skelton was my absolute favorite "Comic", the man with a heart of gold.  Those pictures of "Clem" on the wall are signed?  WOW!  How did your dad get them?  If you don't mind my asking.
