Hi AnaMaria, Peter and Jim.
Well my friends, thanks to my friends here at ALP that like SHAMU, it looks like I've gotten a hat trick (3 Wins) in the Photo Of The Week contest, eh. Thank you to the three of you and ALL the people, especially my friends, that took the time to vote in the contest.
Want to know my secret about my pictures and why they're WINNERS? Too bad - LOL - because there isn't any secret. I'm a 100% AMATUER photographer with a very simple, fairly inexpensive, 7 megapixel, SMALL and COMPACT (my new camera) Olympus 730 Digital Camera with a meager 3X zoom lens. Many of my pictures were taken with my older 2.5 megapixel Canon A650. So I guess my "secret" to winning is to ENTER a picture you like into the contest.
As I go around leaving feedback (over 100 people "tagged" as per my Friend to Friend for Friends forum) on people's profiles I ALWAYS look at their Photo Gallery. My friends, when they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, believe it. Nothing will tell you more about a person than seeing the pictures one is proud of enough to display on a public site like ALP. I've seen some WONDERFUL and AMAZING pictures from all around the world while visiting peoples' profiles. AnaMaria, Jim and Peter, why you don't get at least a dozen entries every week is beyond me. You should be getting so many entries that you'd need catagories, like People Pics, Animal Pics, Scenery Pics, etc. just to handle them all.
BUT I guess I'm just one of those "dreamers" (funny, I thought there were a LOT of people like me here considering that ALP is designed for "dreamers"). Since I don't see a whole lot of entries for the NEXT contest yet. Plus I don't see any rules preventing me from entering AGAIN. I think I'll go for the "hat trick" + 1.
Now I'll have to admit that pictures from SeaWorld taken by a "PRO" (hahahaha) like me may be a little intimidating to my competition. I certainly would never want to discourage anyone from entering this contest (I hope everyone knows they can RE-ENTER their previous week's picture) by entering extraordinary pictures (I guess in truth - The BIG kiss - was rather extraordinary) like the last one. I'll simply enter a picture I took of my 2 year old Golden Retriever Lucky. The kind of picture anyone might take and have in their "repetoire" of family photos of their pets.
So here's my entry for the next contest.
Title: Lucky Dog takes a break after retrieving his toy.

I hope you like it. Maybe I'll get lucky with Lucky, eh.
Remember to come and VOTE for the picture you like best and GOOD LUCK to all the contestants and their FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHS here in the BEST contest in all of ALP.
Your friend (please invite me to be friends if I'm not already),
Gunther G.
