Hi Gaby,

Sucanat is a natural sugar.  Look around health food stores for this.  It is not sold in supermarkets.  Although the other day to my surprise, I noticed that sea salt was being sold at Walmart, so I suppose anything is possible.  Could sucanat be coming to a Walmart near you?

Hugs,

Luella

Hi Myrna,

Try health food stores.  Depending on where you live you might have to shop around.

Hi Luella,

This sounds absolutely delicious.  However, I know they are healthier, I'm afraid with me and my love for food, Fat Tuesday would lead to Fatter Wednesday, then right on into His Fatness Thursday, etc., etc.  But i am willing to take a chance and I will definitely try this recipe.

As for Sucanat, it's a genuine whole sugar with a rich molasses flavor, and is a fairly good source of iron, calcium, potassium, B vitamins, and chromium. especially great  when used in chocolate-based recipes, barbecue sauces, on oatmeal, or to flavor beverages.  It's lighter-weight Cousin, Turbanado is widely available, often sold as Sugar In The Raw.  However, I get my Sucanat online from Now Foods,   .  While I have no connection with Now Foods, this delicious stuff is also available at Amazon.com, and I will be more than happy to provide anyone with my link if they're interested. LOL.

As for taste, if you're ever fortunate enough to have a REAL Coca-Cola, bottled in Mexico and sweetened with pure cane rather than processed sugar, you'll never go back to the imitation.

Thanks again Luella for the recipe.  I am certain they will be Yummy, probably well before Tuesday.

Have A Beautiful Weekend,

Phil
