Thanks again Marion for starting this forum! Its great to be a part of it! You people have posted some of the most beautiful pictures on here!
This morning when I woke up and looked out my bed room window, there were a lot of red cardinals busy finding something to eat where the grass is now dead and the ground is bear in places!
Most of the leaves have fallen from the trees and we have ultra dry conditions here in north Texas. A burn ban is in effect!
When I came to the other part of the house, I stepped out on the back porch to see if I could get a picture and the birds all flew away!
As long as I'm here, I would like to request that you pray for, not only those of us down here where the burn ban is in effect, but also those people who have lost their homes to flooding! What a disaster!
On Jan. 1, 2006 a raging wild fire came through our part of the world and came within 3 miles of our house. Many of our neighbors lost everything and others suffered great losses. Smoke got in our house and we were evacuated as well as our nearby town 4 miles from here.
For some the hay was bailed and still in the field when the fire came through! Others went out and tore down their barbed wire fences in hopes that their cattle could escape the fire. Those who had time loaded their cattle into trailers and hauled them to safe places. Neighbors helped neighbors but there was still much loss. There was even some cattle that was lost to the fire!
One man went to a neighbor who had hay and asked to buy some for his brother who had lost his. The neighbor's reply was, "No, I won't sell you any hay! I'll give you some!"
Good neighbors are something we can't buy! We can pray for them though!
Thanks again for the privilege to be part of this forum!
Love to all,
J.V.
