Re: CRABBY OLD MAN (Nick)

Nick, dear friend, forgive me.  Not one of my better days for forming words.  No, I did not think you wrote the poem.  It is just that I think it is a lovely poem and I knew it sounded familiar and it is because a copy was sent to me several years ago and I posted it on one of my web pages.  The places are different and the gender is different but the message is the same.  I just wondered actually which one was the true version, that is all.  It may be that Crabby Old Man was first, people take these things from email forwards and change them accordingly to their own whims.

The link I placed is the version on my web page.

Thank you dear friend for sharing this with us and for your wonderful Mom for sending it to you.

Please never doubt my sincerity for I would never intentionally be derogatory nor say anything offensive.  My computer has been acting up and I could not get back sooner.  I love you friend and think you are such an attribute to ALP.

Have a great day!

Sara

"When an old lady died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near Dundee, Scotland, it was felt that she had nothing left of any value. Later, when the nurses were going through her meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. The old lady's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the North Ireland Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on her simple, but eloquent, poem. And this little old Scottish lady, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this "anonymous" poem winging across the Internet. "

Nick, now I am interested in finding the author of that poem.  I think I will try some of the info above and see what happens.  Maybe others can help and we can locate the 'real' one.

Never say life is not interesting...

Sara

Dear Sara !

A special friend like you never has to be sorry as I never take any of our conversations in a negative way ! Sometimes meanings that are typed are no taken in the same way as when you see the person and see their facial expressions when the same words are spoken. Now I will keep passing the candle if you pass on a hug. It just seems the right thing to do - LOL
