There are so many great kids that do wonderful things in our Communities, but far too often the public never hears about those youths. This week I chose to write about a Teen Group called "Operation: Teens For Our Troops".
This teen group was started by 6 kids ranging in age from 11 to 15 years old. Their names and ages are, Lane Folston-Scott (age 15), her younger brother, Adam (age 11), their friends, Jesse (age 14), Scott Carver (age 13), Chris Carver (age 12) and Alexis Abaladejo (age 12). They have formed a non-profit organization to help support our troops.
The group's mission is to teach today's youth about our country and the government, to teach teens to become future leaders, to instill pride and patriotism, and to boost the moral of our troops abroad.
The kids have spent many hours doing volunteer work to help the soldiers, their families, and veterans alike, in the central Florida area. They did a fund raiser recently and raised enough money to send 24 care packages to soldiers abroad. They are off to a great start with their fund raising!
This is just another great example of what our youth of today are doing to make a the world a better place.
