Hi Tom,
I have just got back online after James and I were plunged into total darkness due to the transformer down the road from us blew out. We were off power for 3 hours and thankfully had candles to burn while we waited for the power guy to come and replace the old transformer of about 23 years old with a brand new one - at least that will not happen again for a long time.
I am also thankful that it is not a cold night because we also did not have any heat and there was enough warmth from the heaters being on. Also while James was talking to the repair guy, James mentioned that we blow fuses or overload our power source often especially since it has got cold and running heaters etc. We run more appliances than the previous owner, I am guessing. The power guy said he would send someone tomorrow to adjust something on the powerpole to give us more power source so we will not be overloading anymore, which will not be on our dime as the pole is out on the roadside. It has been such a hassle when this happens because the main power switch is away from the house so we have to turn that off then go back to the powerbox on the house to change fuses then go back and turn the power back on!
From bad situations, good things happen so it pays to thank the Lord for EVERYTHING! Amen!!
Amanda
