Re: Time Management

Ok Ken, Here's my two-cents about "Time" management. It relates to business building. Let me ask you a question. WHAT IS LEVERAGE? When asking this question in my training sessions, I get many, many different answers. Like a small amount of dollars controlling a large amount of stocks or commodities. Or, and a most frequent one, a long pole or board on a small rock, moving a much larger and heavier rock or other object. All these answers are good ones. But now let's "think" about LEVERAGING TIME in our business. This is one most important concept that I want you to grasp! Time is something we've all been conditioned to think about in "working" for a paycheck. What if you say that you can only devote 5 hours "QUALITY" hours per week doing this business. What if everyone you came into contact with said 5 hours per week is all they could do. Doesn't sound like much does it? Well let me enlighten you. Suppose that you only enroll 1 new person into your organization per month. Now how many hours do you have "working" for you each month after only one year? Yes - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you have 3140 man- hours working for "you" each month! (It breaks down like this: After 12 months you have enrolled 12 people. 12 X 5 hours= 60 hours. 60 hours X 52 weeks= 3,120 plus your own 20 hours per month= 3,140 man-hours!) Folks, that's more than one man-year "working for you" each and every month at that point! Ok, now through the process of duplication, we train everyone to do the same. Everyone enrolls just ONE person per month and so on down the line for 12 months. Now, considering 'nothing' else happens - you would have 2,048 PEOPLE in you organization after only one year. 2,048 people X 5 hours per month= 10,245 man-hours per week "working for you"! IMAGINE WHAT THAT'S WORK TO YOU IN A COMMISSIONABLE PROGRAM! So now do you understand the POWER of TIME LEVERAGE!? Food for thought: What if you did 2 people a month? Or maybe 3 and all those were trained to do the same? Folks, this is how fortunes are made in the stock and bond markets AND it applies to NETWORK MARKETING as well. This is how guys like me earn some very healthy commission checks, month after month, and YOU can do it too! Now here's one more little tid-bit of information: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON ANYONE WHO CANNOT DEVOTE A MEASLY 5 HOURS A WEEK WORKING THEIR BUSINESS! Apply my SW Rule: "Some Will; Some Won't; So What! Who's Next! There is another PROFOUNDLY POWERFUL Business-Building tool in all of Network Marketing. It is called S.D.A., and it MUST be worked with "Time Leverage". ***This is the one process that will take you further in anything you want to do, the one process that has created more fame, fortune, and success for more people that any other. What is it, you ask?*** Well, you WILL have to ASK me for it! Later, Harold

Hi Kenneth and Jody, There are alot of books about this issue (e books or other kind), but the first that one has to do is to set up priorities; there are urgent and important things to do. Write them down on a graphic: (something like this) ````!````````````````!```````````````````` ````!````urgent```````!``````urgent```````` ````!`````but````````!```````and`````````` ````!`less important```!````important``````` ````!````````````````!```````````````````` ````!````````````````!```````````````````` ````!________________!____________________ ````!````````````````!```````````````````` ````!`less important```!`````important`````` ````!``````and```````!````````but````````` ````!``less urgent`````!````less urgent````` ````!````````````````!```````````````````` ````!________________!____________________ Hope it's understandable what I meen here. Of course urgent and important are the most important and urgent (LOL) and all that deppendws on your goals you set for yourself. This is the easiest Time Management I know. Hope it helps, Anamaria

Hi Ken thanks for the invite. What I can tell Judy is this. I don't believe it is as much as deviding the day into 15 min. blocks of time and deciding how to spend them. I do believe it is how you manage your self in time. There is what is called the 80/ 20 rule. This is learning what produces the best results to achieve the results you want in any area of life. To do this start with a piece of paper with 80 at the top move over and put 20 at the top also. draw a line the lenth of the paper between them to make two columns. Now decide what area this will be for. If it is your business write my biz at the top. Now comes the fun, Start to list in each collumn the things and how they produce the results you want. If they are very productive in getting the results you want they go in to the 80 % side. If they don't produce the results you want place them in the 20% side. Example; Answering most emails I get does very little to produce the results in desire in my business. So it would go in the 20 % side. However I feel writing and placing ads are very important in achiving my business goals, so this is listed in the 80% side. List every thing that your now doing in one side or the other. What you have listed in the 20% side needs to be deleted from your time, or degaleted to someone else to do or restricted on how much time you spend on doing this activity. The things you have on the 80% side needs to get the most of your time because it is what is getting results you desire to achive. You can fine turn this by look at the 80% side list and decideing which one thing is out performs the rest. Do each thing that is listed and then do them in the order of importance as you go though your day. I know it soubds harsh her but it really will help. You need to do the same process with you friends and business partners or team members. If you talk with team members on the phone you need to decide while talking with them do they fit in the 80% list or the 20%, what are they producing to help you reach your goals. You goals is what is important here, not theirs. I no that sounds cold but it is not it is business. You only have so many mins. in the day and your goal is to become as most affective as you can in reaching that goal by the end of the day. You do not have the belessing to sit around in idel chit chat with people that are draining the life out of you. You don't have to be rude and tell them your in them that they fit in the 20 % side. Just get off the phone with them, " Hey ( sally who ever) I sorry but I really have to cut this short I have got to( run to the post office, start supper what ever). The people you place on the 80% you need to do them the same way if the get to chasing rabits on the phone. Wow ( Bob however) that really interesting and I would love to hear more about it but I have ( x number of people I still have to call)so maybe you and I can have coffee later this week, Have a great day we will talk again soon. Bye. Also the people on the 80 % side you need to look at the who is producing the best results to help you reach your goals. They go to the top of your list. List ever person there in that order 1.2.3. You can now spend the most of with the people that are prducing the most to reach your goal. You can use the 80/20 rule in every area of you life. In planing family time or study time. This takes work but the rewards are huge. Start today then stick to your guns on it in 6 to 12 months you will be amazed at how much you are geting done in a week. Now to keep things in balance. There are many effective tools both computerized and not for time management. I imagine that most business people know to keep an appointment book, address book and a "to do list". But time priority is another matter. Remember that URGENT does not mean IMPORTANT. And that someones else's urgency is almost never ungent for you. Do not take things as they come but rather as they become important! Do the important tasks first. What are the important ones? The ones that get you closer to your life goals. Another methodology that that gets over used in time mangement is mutlitasking. If something is important enough to your goals to require real attention - Stop everything else and do it. If more "urgent" matters require you to not do the important thing right this minute - then assign a time to to return to it ASAP. These are my thoughts on the subject hope they help. God Blesses You! They are the very important. Have you stopped mutitasking those urgent things to get your blessings? Grady Little
