First Hand Knowledge ( Poetry )

           First Hand Knowledge

My life has been so very good to me

as it has brought my Family tree,

They are so happy when they come

to stay at our home beside the Sea.

The children have grown up with

honor standing so big and strong,

Bringing the next generation of our

bloodlines that will continue for so long.

Laying here in my bed knowing

it is not long for me till the end,

This is something they are trying to

change as if the Universe is willing to bend.

Nobody wants anyone of the Family

to ever see the everlasting light,

Even when they come to see it while

sleeping in the night as it is without fight.

There is nothing worse than watching and

seeing anyone who has been made to suffer,

Everyone thinks and feels the medications always

act like a permanent pain relief type of buffer.

Yes this helps them live a little longer so everyone

can still visit them and keep them without any pain,

The question I have to ask anyone is this done

for us all or these suffering people to really gain.

This is not always able to be done for those

that leave without any kind of sign of leaving,

They are always with us thanks to the Divine all it

takes for everyone is the way they start believing.

Dear Michael:

I might be the first one to post here, in which case I am the lucky one :-)

Pain and how we percieve that feeling is indeed a little different for everyone.  The one thing I think many will agree upon, is that we hate to see others suffer, thus anything that will help is so encouraged.  What we tend to not see, as it is not comfortable, is that we sometimes do it for us not for the other person...We do this for many reasons, but the most important one at least to me is we dont want to see the people we care for hurt.  We don't feel good about it.

I have been very aware of the pain you yourself have been in...as the person watching, it can be painful to see.   but, to watch you as an example, fight and be so determined to deal with and overcome it is humbling to say the least.

You are in my thoughts...and I am indeed  so lucky for so many reasons to count you as my friend.

Peace and Light to You

Diane

Thank you Michael,

You poem is not just revealing but is full of imagery.

Every time I read it I get different perspectives.

Pain is a supressing thing but can trigger much artistic depth of thought.

Thank you again.

Roger
