ARE  WE  THANKFUL  DAILY?  By Dean Beaty  11/7/04

Are we thankful daily, for the love of God to man?

Sending a redeemer to fulfill salvation’s plan.

By His love He gave His Son to die on Calvary.

May I thank Him daily, for all His love to me.

Are we thankful daily that His Spirit lives within?

Present always with us, to protect our hearts from sin.

As our guide He teaches us, as on His word we feed.

May I thank Him daily in prayer, in praise, in deed.

Are we thankful daily that God’s word is in our hand?

It will never perish, for He promised it would stand.

In His word we marvel at the truths of love and grace.

May we thank Him daily, until we see His face.

Are we thankful daily of His promise to return?

Do we watch intently?  For His coming do we yearn?

This is the Christian’s blessed hope, to meet Him in the air.

May we thank Him daily, for all His love and care.

Thank you for an opportunity to post some of my husband's poetry.  He wrote so many and because of his stroke he doesn't write like he once did.  I appreciate being able to let others read his work.

Wasted Days

I have lived to be a ripe old age,

for what reason, I still do not know why

Thinking about how I used my years,

I put my hands to my face and cry

Trying to tell the young ones,

that life is Gods special gift

Gives me a sense of accomplishment,

and somehow closes the age old rift

How many years have we wasted,

how many have we seen fly by

Were you given the chance,

to grab a piece of the cosmic pie

In our children we all shall live,

but I lost mine long ago

And for a while my spirit was dead,

my head hung very low

Now Jesus Christ brings love in my heart,

and I am able to smile with my friends

I will always listen for Gods word

no matter what he sends.
