HE’S MY FATHER, MY DEAREST FRIEND By Dean Beaty 4/11/02
The world has many gods and worship mainly in fear
No love from their gods draw them near.
Compassion and mercy are never shown,
For the truth of God’s love is not known.
They’ve no Father, no Shepherd, no Comforting friend.
Just fear as they come to the end.
Uncertainty follows them day by day.
They’ve no Father to show them the way.
No Father, have the lost, to help to show them
the way.
They walk in the night, though it’s day.
They know not the truth of God’s love for men.
How He died on the cross for their sin.
When Jesus taught on prayer, He showed them
God’s only plan
“Our Father” is how He began,
We call and He hears from His throne above.
I thank God for my Father of love.
The creator of all the world loves me I know.
For all of His word tells me so.
To me He’s my Father, my dearest friend.
His love for me never ends.
