Hello Tom,

Thank you for sharing this information on Thanks Giving
I knew some of the history and traditions behind this
day and I it comes across to me that Thanks Giving to
many American's is more important day than Christmas
for families to come together in celebration and prayer
time.

I am not much a of a turkey eater so James and I
have some other meat dish.

I enjoythe different seasons here in America
and Fall now because so many people actually decorate around their yards with pumpkins, scarecrows etc and is leading up to Christmas and snow and looks so pretty - back in New Zealand our seasons being the opposite.

Oct, Nov and December is spring time and leading up to the end of the school year.  There was always lots of end of the year functions to attend for school, work etc that it was always such a hectic time and not much time to reflect - Christmas arrived at the start of summer and hot and you were tired from all these parties, cooking for school functions (take a plate everywhere you went which usually amounted to several different dishes you took along)

It is so much more relaxing this time of year here to enjoy the reason for the season.

Amanda

Thanks Amanda for your comments and your sharing, its pretty cool to know that you dont have to always forllow some silly tradition with eating turkey at thanksgiving, to me its a day to be thankful for what you have and what is to come. The food is just a filler hehe
