Hi Georgios many thanks for this forum. I read this the other day in an email  from Sand Dollar, it is part of an article called "One Thing" and written by Joseph J. Mazzella.

Another miserable day for our little girl. Last night did not allow for much sleep and was filled with watching her breathing. At times, she would sound very congested, the numbers would drop until we could force her to cry or cough, then slowly they would return to normal. She is having more pain from mouthsores. Dr. Prassad used the word "impressive" to describe the condition of her mouth. That is never a word you want to hear used to describe a medical condition unless it is reffering to recovery. I remember 7 months ago the local doctors telling us she had "an impressive case of gas or constipation"...so! They have increased her Fentanyl again. We are hopeful that it will give her some comfort coupled with some much needed healing.

We forced her out of bed for a while today. She did a few laps in the wheelchair and had a little bath for the first time in over two weeks. She was not happy about being pushed to do things, but with her breathing being an issue, staying inactive could lead to pneumonia. We have to get her doing some activity everyday she possibly can. Just for the record, we are told that her lungs sound good, they are just being proactive...we are glad for that.

There is not a more helpless feeling to me than seeing her suffer and not be able to make it better. There is not a band-aid or magic kiss to fix these "boo-boos". There is only hard work, determination, faith, hope and love.
