Good Friends

The most you have done for me
Was to simply be my friend,
Someone whom I can trust
And on whom I can depend.
Friends like you are hard to come by
And are hard to choose,
A real good friendship can never die
Because good friends you never loose.
You're like the autumn leaves . . .
Bursting out with lively colors
Yet, different from all the others.
You fill sunshine everywhere
You're like a 24 karat diamond . . .
Very precious and very rare.
You're a loyal friend who listens
And tries to understand
You're a friend who's always willing
To lend a helping hand.
A friend who shares her time
For a smile and a walk
For a laugh and a talk.
A caring friend who always knew
How to comfort me when I was blue.
A friend who understands
My need to be alone
And a friend who's doors are always open
To make her house also my home.
You're a friend who can keep a secret
And has never told a lie,
A friend that lends a shoulder
Whenever I have the need to cry.
There's a special magic in your touch
That helps a broken heart mend,
There's nothing that means as much
As to have only ONE good friend.
You are a blessing
... A dream come true,
This world would be a much nicer place
If there were more Good Friends
... like YOU!
