Hello Everyone,

I wanted to update those of you who know Lisa Westberry about her daughter Elizabeth. For those that have not heard yet, little Elizabeth, 5 years old, has a rare form of cancer. On October 1st Elizabeth went to Duke Hospital in Durham, NC to start the next phase of her treatment plan.

Elizabeth went through a week of Chemotherapy, and she is very sick and weak. She has not been able to eat and they didn't really want her eating anyway because it would make the vomiting worse. She has only been receiving glucose through the IV...the last Lisa said they might start feeding her intravenously but have not started doing so yet.

Elizabeth went through the 7 days of chemo, and now she is in the next stage of treatment...stem cell transplant. Yesterday she did not get out o bed at all and did not talk Lisa said. She has a fever now of 102F, and so they are now checking to see if she has an infection. Elizabeth also has been having trouble with her heart racing up to about 180 beats a minute. This part has been very scary for them all, even Elizabeth, and she gets very upset and scare when she hears the heart machine's alarm going off. She understands enough to know that this is not good.

Needless to say this is a very tough time for Lisa, George, Elizabeth and the rest of the family and friends. Please pray for Elizabeth! Please pray and ask God to help her through this treatment and let's pray that this treatment works for her. Pray for Lisa and her husband George along with the rest of the family...this is a very stressful and emotional time for all of them, and they need the strength to carry on.

I have 4 children of my own, and I know how badly I use to feel when they got sick or hurt. I can not even begin to imagine how I would handle what Lisa and the family is going through. It rips my heart out though to think about poor little Elizabeth and how she is suffering, and for her Mom and Dad having to just sit there and watch her and try to be strong for her. I cry about it all the time. Whenever I have contact from Lisa my heart bleeds for her...please just pray for them!

Dear Lord, you have been hearing my prayers every day for this sweet, innocent, little girl Elizabeth and You know all the pain and suffering she is enduring. Please lay Your healing hands upon her and help her and make her well again. Please help Lisa and George, give them the strength and courage that they need to continue going through this very stressful and emotional time. Please, I beg of you, to let this treatment be what she needs to help her get better, and to put an end to her suffering. I ask all these things God of You, I know that all things are possible through You! Amen.
