I was sort of bummed out for a couple months, a lot was going on with my son getting ready to leave for the Air Force.  That's not a bad thing, he won't be in combat but we had to work on getting his drivers license, and open a bank account and he had to gain weight...you'd think that wouldn't be a problem but he was way under the weight limit and couldn't gain no matter how much he ate!  But he finally made it!
I also now have total hearing loss in my left ear now, it was about 30% before, now it's completely gone on that side so it took some getting used to, and trying not to be p.o'd about it...anyway!
I'll try to post at least 2 Whammy threads per week and not let it slide into oblivion again!

I can certainly emphatize with you on your son going in the Air Force.  It is tough on parents. 

Sorry about your hearing loss.  I have experienced that for several months after my eardrum exploded.  It is terrible, but to suffer complete loss, I can't even imagine.  Will it come back or can you do anything?

I still have my right ear!  Actually I had very little hearing in the left for several years but I didn't realize losing that side completely would be that noticeable, but it IS.  I don't know what happened, I took a few plane flights this year but my ears didn't hurt, then I had a minor infection recently, then no sound on that side.  I don't know if it's coming back.  Anyway, I only notice it when I have to talk to non-relatives, especially females with low voices, because my relatives know they have to speak louder to me.  I have a few relatives with hearing impairment so most of us are loud anyway.  I blast the TV set sometimes but who doesn't?!
